Plunder has been noticeably missing from Warzone 2 since launch, and won’t feature in the Season 2 update. However, Raven Software have revealed plans to bring the fan-favorite mode back later down the line.

Warzone 2 players are spoilt for choice when it comes to different game modes. The sequel launched last year with battle royale playlists for all different squad sizes, as well as the DMZ mode inspired by Escape from Tarkov.

Resurgence is also making its long-awaited comeback in Warzone 2 Season 2, complete with the new Ashika Island map. But one fan-favorite mode that has been absent in the game so far is Plunder, which hasn’t been seen since the original Warzone.

Luckily, the developers have teased that players won’t have too much longer to wait before Plunder returns.

Raven Software reveals Plunder is coming to Warzone 2

Prior to the launch of Warzone 2 Season 2, CharlieIntel attended a call with Raven Software, where the team confirmed that, although Plunder doesn’t feature in the latest update, it will be added in “future seasons.”

Sadly, this probably means that Plunder won’t arrive during the mid-season update for Season 2 and the earliest possible release date will be in Season 3. This suggests there could still be a few months to wait before the mode reappears.

While this may be disappointing for those looking for a change of pace from the more traditional battle royale experiences in Warzone 2, fans can rest assured that Plunder is very much in the devs’ plans.

Plunder was one of the most popular modes in the original Warzone.

For those new to the game, Plunder shakes up the Warzone formula by giving players infinite respawns rather than eliminating them after death. Instead, the goal is to earn a certain amount of money, either from looting or defeating other squads.

The first team to hit the milestone, call in a helicopter, and extract the cash is declared the victor.

It became an incredibly popular mode in the first Warzone and the go-to way of leveling up weapons away from multiplayer. Fans have been desperate to see it added to Warzone 2, and it seems their prayers are set to be answered.
