After the news that two maps would arrive in Modern Warfare 2 Season 2, both of which have been seen before, the roadmap was met with serious backlash. Now, with Season 2 here, Infinity Ward have confirmed that a new map arrives with the Reloaded update.

While Warzone 2 has received a ton of changes and new content with the Season 2 update, Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer community was less than impressed with the offerings.

Warzone 2 gets a ton of quality-of-life changes and the brand-new Ashika Island map, but aside from Ranked Play, Modern Warfare 2 would only receive two maps — neither of which are new. This means that there hasn’t been a brand-new Modern Warfare 2 map since launch.

The roadmap received a ton of backlash from the multiplayer community, but the devs have confirmed that players can expect a “new 6v6 MP map” in the mid-season update.

With the Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 patch notes now live, Infinity Ward confirmed some of the content players can expect in Season 2 Reloaded.

“Season 02 kicks off now and the mid-season update is around the corner,” explained the devs. “It is going to have new content and a limited-time holiday event. You can look forward to a brand-new RAID episode, new Multiplayer modes, a new 6v6 Multiplayer map, and more.”

A new Raid episode and more multiplayer modes had already been confirmed in the roadmap, but another 6v6 map is brand-new information. The patch notes have shown an image of the new map, and it appears to be a brand-new map taking place in a snowy, mountainous region.

The Season 2 Reloaded update is expected to arrive in mid-March, so we should get some more information in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, be sure to check out a breakdown of Ranked Plays rewards, Skill Divisions, and the best loadouts to dominate the mode.
