Modern Warfare 2 Play Again feature explained

Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 Reloaded arrived on August 30, bringing a lot of new content into both MW2 and Warzone, including new weapons and Operators. One of the new additions to Modern Warfare 2 is the Play Again feature, and here’s how it works.

The Season 5 Reloaded update arrived in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 on August 30, bringing a plethora of new content for players to explore. This includes a new multiplayer map, new weaponry, such as the Lachmann Shroud SMG, and 9mm Daemon Pistol, an expansion of the Operator roster with 21 Savage and Lara Croft Operators, and more.

CoD players have long complained about disbanding lobbies where they’re put into an entirely new match where playing with the same players again is rare. While it’s not a direct fix, Infinity Ward are introducing the “Play Again” feature to Modern Warfare 2 with Season 5 Reloaded, so here’s how it works.

What is Play Again in Modern Warfare 2?

Modern Warfare 2’s Play Again feature lets players of the same team opt to play together again in the next lobby. The devs confirmed solo players and party leaders will get the opportunity to select “Play Again” after each match.

Although it looks like it won’t entirely fix the disbanding lobbies issue, this feature will allow players of the same team to remain together into the next match. So, you’ll likely be against an entirely different set of enemies.

This feature was adapted from Warzone, where players in the same squad could vote to remain together into the next match. While it might not be as useful in casual 6v6 matches, it could be especially useful in Ranked Play if you’re still grinding for those Skill Division rewards that will carry forward into Modern Warfare 3.
