Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play enforces strict rules when it comes to weapons, but a Season 2 Reloaded glitch lets players use the look of Blueprints they haven’t even unlocked

Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play gives players the chance to experience the game like a CDL pro. The competitive mode puts the most dedicated CoD fans onto a limited pool of maps and modes to battle it out and improve their Skill Rating.

Just like the CDL, Ranked Play applies a number of strict regulations when it comes to weapons to keep matches as fair as possible. This means many powerful weapons, like the ISO Hemlock, and attachments are banned.

You can, however, use any Blueprints you have for eligible weapons, and a new Modern Warfare 2 glitch is letting players any Blueprint from the store whether they’ve unlocked it or not.

Los Angeles Guerrillas pro Alec “Arcitys” Sanderson revealed that the MW2 Ranked Play menus will currently allow you to equip any weapon Blueprint. This includes Blueprints that you don’t own, so it gives access to camos and cosmetics that you might not have in pubs.

How to use any Blueprint in Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play

Here’s how to use any weapon Blueprint in Modern Warafre 2 Ranked Play:

  1. Open Ranked Play and head to the loadout screen.
  2. Select the class you want to edit.
  3. Press on the primary slot to bring up the weapons menu.
  4. Select whichever gun you prefer to run in Ranked Play.
  5. Scroll over to the Store tab.
  6. Choose a Blueprint and press L2/LT to ‘Equip Weapon and Open Gunsmith.’
  7. Start a Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play match.
  8. Choose the loadout with the Blueprint equipped.

Once you’ve added a specific Blueprint to your class, you can tailor the loadout even further using the Gunsmith. This means you can apply all of your favorite attachments and use them while keeping most of the look of the Blueprint.

The main drawback to this glitch is that it only gives access to the visuals of the Blueprint, it can’t be used to access any banned guns or attachments.

While restricted attachments will be viable in the Gunsmith, any left on the loadout will be removed when you enter a Ranked Play match. These will be marked by a small exclamation point symbol.

It’s worth keeping in mind that this is an unintentional glitch, and we expect the devs to patch it as soon as possible.
