Warzone 2 & Modern Warfare 2 players are ecstatic to find that a highly requested quality-of-life feature has been added to the battle royale in the Season 1 Reloaded update.

Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2‘s first big update has officially arrived, as Season 1 Reloaded kicked off on December 14.

The update didn’t just bring a new Rocket League-esque game mode, plenty of bug fixes, and buffs and nerfs to weapons, but it also provides quality-of-life updates that players will be happy to see.

One of the biggest issues players have had with Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 has been enemy visibility. The main problem players have had is actually to do with ally nameplates, as in some situations, ally nameplates sit perfectly above enemies, making players think they are friendly when they’re not.

This can be extremely frustrating, resulting in deaths as players quickly find out that the player is definitely not on their side. Luckily, the devs have addressed this problem, as the Season 1 Reloaded update brought a fix for the issue which is detailed in the patch notes.

Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 ally nameplate behavior change

Under the Balance Changes section of the Modern Warfare 2 & Warzone 2 Season 1 Reloaded patch notes, the devs provided the following fix for ally nameplates appearing over enemies:

  • Ally nameplates disappear when an enemy is in the direct path of an ally, to prevent mistaking enemies for allies.

This means that when enemies are in the “direct path of an ally,” your teammate’s nameplates and color icon will disappear. Hopefully, this will prevent player confusion and frustration when it comes to enemy visibility on Al Mazrah and MW2’s multiplayer maps, especially on Shipment.

Players seem to be pretty happy about it, as the comments of CharlieIntel’s Twitter post reveal many comments expressing delight after experiencing the issue themselves.

“The amount of times I’ve died from mistaking an enemy as friendly is way to often, thank the lord!” explained one user, while another said, “I can’t even count how many times this happened to me glad this was addressed.”
