In the Resident Evil 4 Remake, there are a ton of options when it comes to weapons, but which ones are the best and deserve to take up the limited space in your inventory case? Here’s your answer.

Resident Evil 4 Remake throws players straight into the deep end, as Leon fends for his life as soon as he steps into the village. Despite players figuring out how to skip the first major encounter, throughout the game’s story players will be faced with hordes of enemies.

Luckily, there are plenty of weapons in the game to take care of the infected, but with so much choice and not enough inventory space, some are wondering what weapons are best to use.

So, here’s our guide on the best weapons to get and use in the Resident Evil 4 Remake to make your choice easier.

Best weapons to use in Resident Evil 4 Remake

Before we get into the best weapons in RE4 Remake, some weapons need to be purchased from the Merchant, while some can be found in the game world. If you’d like to know where to find all of the weapons on this list, check out our full guide to every weapon in Resident Evil 4 Remake and how to get them.

Best Handgun: Red9

Leon wielding the Red9 in the Resident Evil 4 Remake.

The Red9 is by far the most powerful and best Handgun in the game, despite having some heavy recoil to control.

This weapon packs a serious punch, with the highest power stat out of all the Handguns. Red9 with the stock attachment is a serious must-have, hence it’s place on our list of the best Resident Evil Remake guns.

Best Magnum: Killer7

Unlocked later down the line, the Killer7 is an extremely powerful stainless steel magnum. This gun has a laser sight built in for high accuracy, making it a great pick for your Resident Evil 4 arsenal.

The Killer7 has insane power, and while it may not have the biggest ammo capacity or rate of fire, you’ll only need a couple of shots.

Best Shotgun: Striker

The Striker in the Resident Evil 4 Remake is our pick for the best Shotgun.

When it comes to Shotguns, the Striker is our pick of the bunch, mostly due to its rate of fire as a semi-automatic Shotgun.

This weapon may not have the best range, but when up close, it’s by far the most powerful in its class. What’s nice about the Striker is it also doesn’t take as much room as other Shotguns in the game such as the Riot Gun.

Best Rifle: SR M1903

Rifles are great in Resident Evil 4 Remake, as they allow you to take out enemies with ease from range, with high accuracy and damage.

That’s why the SR M1903 is on our list of the best weapons in Resident Evil 4, as you can get this gun as early as Chapter 2, and it’s powerful enough to use throughout your journey, so long as you upgrade it.

Best SMG: LE 5

Finding the LE 5 isn’t an easy task, but it’s sure worth it.

The LE 5 is the best SMG in the game for us, mostly because you are unable to get the Chicago Sweeper in your first playthrough.

The LE 5 outperforms the TMP SMG in pretty much every category apart from reload speed and ammo capacity, but these can both be upgraded anyway. The only downside to the LE 5 is that it can’t be obtained until Chapter 13.

Best Knife: Fighting Knife

Knives are essential to combat in Resident Evil 4 Remake, as you’ll often find yourself needing them to finish enemies off and prevent them from turning into Plagas.

The Fighting Knife is easily the best in the game due to its high durability and power, which gets even better with upgrades.
