The Resident Evil 4 Remake is no walk in the park, as Leon will often find himself bombarded by infected villagers. That said, there is an easter egg to stop the village fight at the start of the game.

The Resident Evil 4 Remake is full of action, but luckily the game provides weaponry and loot to deal with violent village residents. That said, it’s easy to get overwhelmed when enemies start pouring out of the woodwork.

The first time Leon stumbles upon the Village Square, he’ll be met by a bunch of infected villagers who definitely don’t make newcomers feel welcome. Once spotted, these enemies start coming at Leon thick and fast, as well as a crazed chainsaw man looking to chop you down.

This scene can be quite difficult to survive, as you’ll need to fend for yourself until the enemies are eventually called away. However, players have discovered a skip for this encounter, so here’s how to activate it.

How to skip Resident Evil 4 village fight

In order to skip the village fight in the Resident Evil 4 Remake, players can shoot the bell in the Church tower outside of the Village Square, which calls all of the villagers away, including the chainsaw enemy.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to shoot the bell, as you’ll need to get the right angle:

  1. Run straight past the villagers and enter the building to the left of the Village Square tower.
  2. Once inside this building, head to the second floor and jump out of the window to the right at the top of the stairs.
  3. Follow the wooden walkway to the right and stand on top of the small roof.
  4. From here, look in between the tower and mountains and you should see the Church tower.
  5. Aim for the upper middle of this tower, where a bell would typically be, until you hear the bell sound.

There you have it, this will skip the village fight entirely, which is great for those trying to speed run the game or just get passed the hassle that this scene causes.
