Rocket in Battlefield 2042's orbital map

Battlefield 2042’s Beta gives players access to the chaotic Orbital map, which features a devastating tornado and a rocket launch. With some player help, this rocket launch can fail, so here’s how to destroy Orbital’s rocket in Battlefield 2042.

Battlefield 2042 has taken the blockbuster FPS series to another level with its massive maps featuring 128 players and the return of levolution – massive map-changing events that shake up the entire flow of the round.

While Orbital doesn’t feature any levolution, per se, the rocket can blow up, providing an exciting world event and scattering debris all over the runway. This isn’t a random event either. Players will need to play an active part in blowing it up.

Here’s everything you need to do to blow up the rocket in the Battlefield 2042 Beta.

How to destroy the rocket in Battlefield 2042 Orbital

Rocket preparing to launch in battlefield 2042 beta

To destroy the rocket in Battlefield 2042’s Orbital, players need to damage it when it’s preparing to launch.

  1. Load into a match of Orbital in Battlefield 2042’s Beta
  2. Wait for the rockets arms to come down as it prepares to launch
  3. Hit it with tanks, helicopters, and rockets to damage it
  4. Watch it explode and spread debris across the map

The rocket will prepare to launch at some point in the game – this is your opportunity to blow it up.

You’ll know it’s preparing when the arms come down from the sides, and this is when you need to start hitting it with everything you’ve got. You have around six minutes, so it’s achievable if you have enough powerful weapons hitting it.

Your standard weapons likely won’t do enough damage, so you should try to use tanks, helicopters, and the Recoilless M5 launcher.

The Battlefield 2042 rocket will blow up just as it’s about to launch if you deal enough damage. This massive event will scatter debris, dust, and fire all over the runway and kill anyone unfortunate enough to be too close.

We expect there to be many more map-changing events such as this in the full launch, so stay tuned to Charlie INTEL for all things Battlefield 2042.
