Baldur’s Gate 3 has an extensive list of useful spells that the players can use during combat. However, some of them are convinced that one simple action is better than most of them.

Being one of the most immersive and interactive games of 2023, Baldur’s Gate 3 offers you a large number of ways to defeat your enemies in the game. As an RPG title, many love to engage in combat as a mage and make use of effective spells to take care of foes.

However, collecting all of them can get a bit complicated as you would have to invest hundreds of hours into finding the best build for you and your companions. But what if you could use one of the simplest abilities in the game and get even better results than learning spells?

This is what Reddit user ‘Pekodes’ claimed as they joked about having AOE spells in their arsenal but still preferred to use Shove. It is a simple ability in Baldur’s Gate 3 that allows you to push an enemy back and can be used to make them fall off ledges instead of fighting them head-on.

“I really understand the combat and I shove so many people now as my bonus action, it’s a great time,” said one happy Shove user. However, most of the people in the thread focussed on how they could kill Balthazar the first time they met him by simply shoving him off the ledge.

Many people in the thread did not like fighting Balthazar due to all the adds that spawn during his boss fight like the “horde of skeletal archers and melee units,” and of course, giants that were a constant hindrance for many. So using Shove to kill him seemed to be ideal to most of them.

With so many areas that can kill someone with fall damage in the game, many felt that Shove is even better than Level 3 spells in Baldur’s Gate 3. However, you must level up your character and your companions before you can use this ability on high-level enemies.

Some suggested “pickpocketing” to make other characters lighter to help you in shoving and increase its success rate in the game. Plus you will also need to increase your “Strength” to boost your odds.
