A Baldur’s Gate 3 player’s unintended triggering of an evil run has fans of the RPG cracking up. Here’s what the BG3 community said about this player’s streak of bad luck and tough choices.

In the universe of Baldur’s Gate 3, Tymora, the Goddess of luck and halflings, only plays a secondary role in the background of the story. Her dominion is that of luck, poetic justice, and bold decisions. However, luck doesn’t stay on the side of Baldur’s Gate 3 players for long.

In Baldur’s Gate 3, everything can go wrong, as the game always forces players to make harsh choices. So, players are always one poor dice roll away from becoming the villains of the story.

This is what happened to Reddit user ‘kinkykath_14,’ who after a series of unfortunate events, ended up becoming the villain of Baldur’s Gate 3.

The player wrote: “Every mistake that could happen, happened.” They then proceeded to explain a series of mistakes that led their party to fall to the side of evil.

Kinkykath_14’s streak of bad luck started in the Druid’s grove, where they murdered (allegedly by mistake) a poor bird, triggering an all-out fight between the two major factions in Act 1 of Baldur’s Gate 3. Thus, forcing their hand to commit mass murder.

A Baldur’s Gate 3 fan commenting on the post and trying to see the good side of this player’s story said: “At least you saved Scratch.” To which Kinkykath_14 answered: “I play fetch with him every long rest to help me forget my terrible sins.”

This user’s streak of bad luck followed them further ahead during Act 1, where they killed Minthara, and lost track of Halsin, successfully managing to miss both of their recruitment prompts in a single playthrough. They also managed to behead Karlach, because they panicked and didn’t know what to do.

One of the players had this to say about Kinkykath_14’s rushed decision: ” ‘I didn’t know what to do so I beheaded her!’…you might want to consider other methods.” Another player added: “I tend to find that there are very few situations that can’t be resolved by doing a little beheading.”

If you find yourself exploring the Sword Coast and are trying hard not to commit the same mistakes as this player, here’s what you should do if you meet Gandrel. In case you are wondering, here’s every possible outcome if you choose to side with Kith’rak Voss.
