To reach the City of Baldur’s Gate, you must first traverse the perilous Shadow Cursed Lands, affected by a terrible curse. During these travels, the Last Light Inn will be your only hope for refuge. Here’s how to find the Last Light Inn in Baldur’s Gate 3.

In Baldur’s Gate 3, you will often have to make difficult choices, take sides and ally yourself with a myriad of characters both new and some returning. Before you can enjoy the action, you will need to progress further into the story. To do that, you need to travel the perilous lands affected by The Shadow Curse.

Part of that journey is finding the Last Light Inn in Baldur’s Gate 3, so here’s its location.

How to find Last Light Inn Baldur’s Gate 3

To find the route to the Last Light Inn, you must first complete Act 1 of the Baldur’s Gate 3’s main questline. To do so, you must travel either by the perilous Mountain Pass or through the Underdark.

We recommend this second option, as it is the one that will leave you closer to the Last Light Inn, and expose you less to the dangerous effects of the Shadow Curse.

In the Grymforge area of the Underdark, you will see the elevator you need to take.

During your exploration in the Underdark, you’ll eventually come across a Myconid Colony, there, the Hive Mind will send you on a quest to ‘Purge the Dark Dwarves‘ menacing their Colony.

After finding and defeating them, you’ll reach their hideout by boat. Once in the Grymforge area, search for a staircase that leads toward an elevator. Use the elevator to gain access to Act 2, and enter the Shadow Cursed lands.

Upon arriving at the surface again, you’ll be at the entrance of an old Sharran Temple, there, you’ll find Elminster. Talk to him, hear what he has to say, and rest in your camp before embarking on your journey again.

After taking a long rest, make sure you prepare torches and other light sources. You’ll need them to keep the effects of the Shadow Curse at bay. Casting ‘Light’ on your lead character with Gale, or if your main character is a spellcaster that knows that cantrip, will suffice.

Saving the Harpers will mark the location on your map, but beware, detours can get you in trouble.

Remember to take the Broken Moonlanter quest item right next to the Drow Corpse, as you’ll need it later during the main quest.

Take no detours and move straight, you’ll eventually see a group of Harpers, approach them to trigger a cutscene. Identify yourself, cooperate, and fight back the Shadows ambushing them. After you manage to save them, they will share the location of the Last Light Inn.

By now, you might have noticed that the effects of the Shadow Curse are brutal, and the environment is not your only enemy. So be quick and open your map to see the quest mark that indicates where you need to go.

From the Ruined Battlefield Zone where you helped the Harpers, you will see a sinuous path ahead. Follow the Path until you see a gleaming wall of white fire. Approach and you will see the entrance to the Last Light Inn.

Baldur’s Gate 3: How to gain access to the Last Light Inn

Upon entering the Last Light Inn in Baldur’s Gate 3, you will be questioned by the guards, if you managed to save the Harpers, they will let you in without too much trouble. However, you are not in the clear yet. It’s here that you will meet the leader of the Harpers, Jaheira, who is a powerful druidess.

You will see a white barrier guarding the entrance to the Last Light Inn, don’t worry, it doesn’t burn.

Cooperate with her, show her the Artifact, and tell only the truth. She will reluctantly let you in the Last Light Inn which will be your main refuge during Act 2.
