Respawn Entertainment have revealed details regarding the Apex Legends Season 22 update, including the huge Battle Pass changes. Also, the dataminers have uncovered some expected content set to arrive in the new season.

For those intrigued by the Apex Legends Season 22 leaks and expected content, here’s everything we know so far.

Apex Legends Season 22 start date

Apex Legends Season 22 will start on August 6, 2024, at around 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST according to the in-game Battle Pass timer for Season 21.

This in-game timer has been a reliable method of knowing the release date for new seasons, but if anything changes, we’ll be sure to update this piece.

New map & Lifeline rework leaks

District map

According to leaks from Osvaldatore, Season 22 will introduce the District map to the game, a brand-new full-sized battle royale map set on Suotamo, one of the largest cities in the Outlands and Crypto’s old stomping grounds.

The map is said to come with a new four-player Trident, which suggests that Quads will return in the new season.

Lifeline rework

Further, leaker Kralrindo claims that a Lifeline rework is set to arrive for either Season 22 or 23, called Lifeline Revived. This will overhaul the Support Legend’s abilities, giving her the following:

  • A new glide mechanic with her current Passive
  • Rework her D.O.C. Heal Drone that allows it to follow you and your teammates
  • A completely new Ultimate called “Shockbot 3000” sees Lifeline release a destructive bot that ejects enemies from an area

Keep in mind that none of this has been confirmed, so take it all with a pinch of salt for now.

Battle Pass overhaul

The devs have confirmed that major Battle Pass changes will be arriving in Season 22, but apart from that, they have not shared any other details on the new season.

The BP changes haven’t been received too well, as players are upset that you will no longer be able to buy it with Apex Coins, and that there will now be a new Premium+ offering that costs $19.99 / £17.99.

This, compiled with the fact that there will now be two 60 Tier Battle Passes per season as opposed to one 110 Tier pass, means that players will have to spend more to get the max rewards for a season.

Expected content

  • New Battle Pass system
  • Balance changes for Legends & weapons
  • Ranked updated
  • New events & LTMs
  • New cosmetics

Nothing else has been confirmed for Season 22, but we expect to see the same offerings we do each season in terms of new events, LTMs, and balance changes.

Apex Legends hasn’t had the best of seasons in terms of player count, so perhaps the new content coming with Season 22 can bring a boost in popularity.
