Apex Legends players are more than dissatisfied with the newly announced Battle Pass changes, as some claim they will no longer be purchasing it.

Season 22 will bring a massive overhaul to the Battle Pass. The major changes include the introduction of a new Premium+ offering, two 60 Tier Battle Passes per split as opposed to one 110 Tier pass, reworked rewards and pricing, and the removal of the ability to purchase the BP with Apex Coins.

Respawn Entertainment claimed to have made these changes to provide players with more rewards at a reduced cost, but not being able to purchase the pass with Apex Coins has left players furious.

Under the announcement on X, players shared their opinions: “We can’t use Apex coins to buy the BP??? This gotta be an EA change because that’s so f***ing stupid.” Another agreed, “Wait, we can’t use the Apex coins from last season to buy the new season pass? That’s awful.”

Despite being advertised as a reduced price, players will need to purchase two Battle Passes in one season, and to get the maximum rewards, they’ll need to buy the Premium+ offering, which sits at a steep price of $19.99/£17.99.

This means that those who want to earn all the rewards possible over a season will need to cough up $40/£35.98. This expensive price led to pro Apex player Hambino calling it a “money hungry” decision by EA.

Some claimed that following these changes they “won’t be buying another BP.” Even those who have purchased every single pass since launch have stated that they won’t be buying it once the new system goes live in Season 22.

We’ll have to wait and see if Respawn responds to the backlash, which is coming in thick and fast. Until then, they’ll likely be focusing on the new season’s content, which leaks point to a new map and Lifeline rework.
