A new Apex Legends anti-cheat feature has been announced, which will expose hackers and cheaters to the whole lobby.

Like any popular multiplayer game such as Warzone or Fortnite, Apex Legends is no stranger to cheaters and hackers, especially in the Ranked Leagues.

These hackers completely ruin the competitive experience of Respawn‘s free-to-play battle royale, and it’s extremely frustrating when you lose Ladder Points in Ranked because of it. Thankfully, Apex Legends has an anti-cheat system that’s always on the lookout.

The anti-cheat team will ban hackers from Apex and kick cheaters from matches when they are aware of them. Now, the Apex Legends Security team have revealed a new feature coming to the anti-cheat in a future update which will essentially expose hackers and cheaters to the whole lobby.

Red Spider, a member of Apex Legends Security, revealed a sneak peek of this new feature on X. Once added to the game, players will be able to see a new “kill feed callout” that shows when a cheater or hacker is removed from the match.

This essentially allows the whole lobby to see the cheater’s name, exposing them to the rest of the match’s players. It’s easy to spot too, as the kill feed callout features a red exclamation mark to inform you that a cheater was removed.

Another member of Apex Security, Conor Ford, also known as Hideouts, also chimed in. Hideouts said, “Excited to see this feature make its way into the game finally. Always fun to know when a cheater is removed from match.”

It’s unclear when this feature will be arriving in the game, but as soon as it’s implemented, we’ll be sure to let you know, so stay tuned.

For now, make sure you also check out why players are comparing the price of an Apex Legends bundle to Baldur’s Gate 3.
