Starfield’s lore and Easter eggs have continuously brought the community together as players have discovered a new hint regarding one of the most popular character’s origins in the game.

After becoming one of Bethesda’s most successful ventures soon after launch, Starfield has repeatedly been called one of the biggest RPG titles in recent times. With a huge open world that involves dozens of galaxies and star systems, the game also has a vast lore attached to it.

Talking about lore, Easter eggs have been a major part of Starfield‘s gameplay experience. Veteran Bethesda enthusiasts have constantly mined the galaxies in their quest to find hints about some of the characters from the game.

It seems like Reddit user ‘kwhudgins21’ has stumbled upon some interesting information while exploring Starfield, as they found an interesting illustration on a whiteboard that could indicate some unsettling lore for Vaco’s origins.

The OP says: “Is this ever explained? I found this whiteboard mentioning VASCO like he is a mysterious murder bot at a random POI.” Associating Vasco with being a murder bot might be ludicrous in the eyes of many players, but some other Starfield deep divers have assured that it’s not impossible.

Additionally one of the players vouched for the fact that the robot mentioned in the OP’s screenshot was indeed Vasco as his serial number was believed to be VAS-119, the same as the one in the whiteboard illustation.

Starfield enthusiast ‘MountStupendous’ thought that this might be a hint about Vasco’s backstory, as they believed that he used to be a “robot with a penchant for killing.” However, as players first find Vasco together with Barett, the commenter felt that he was “smooth-talked” by him into the Constellation.

Some suggest how this could be “an amazing backstory” for a mission associated with Vasco in future DLCs, while others researched a bit about the robot’s backstory but could not get any concrete information about his origins.

There is no information about Vasco’s backstory apart from his relation to Barret, so a lot of it is open to speculation and fan theories. However, Bethesda are known for solving lore doubts among the players, as they did with the Elder Scrolls series, so many expect that more information about the robot will be released soon.
