Bethesda have heard the complaints of thousands of players about not having city maps, and they’ve provided an update.

After its release in early September, Starfield has gone on to break records as Bethesda’s best launch in the company’s history. However, players soon took notice of important missing features included in the game, as well as some optimization issues.

The company has made it clear that they’ve heard the feedback of the fans. Bethesda revealed some important details about the plans for the game, including the addition of city maps that players desperately called for.

Among all the fixes and issues addressed in the official response, Bethesda also included “making sure any top blocker bugs or stability issues are addressed, and adding quality-of life features” as a top priority for the game.

The first update that Bethesda already released in the form of a small hotfix looks to fix some of these issues and includes Brightness and Contrast controls, HDR Calibration Menu, FOV Slider, Nvidia DLSS Support (PC), 32:9 Ultrawide Monitor Support (PC) and an “Eat” button for food.

Bethesda also provided additional insight into their collaboration with Nvidia, AMD, and Intel about driver support, stability, and performance improvements.

Many Starfield fans have received the news with joy: “Great news. FOV slider is very appreciated,” one of them wrote in response to Bethesda’s post, and another player echoed: “Some great stuff in the first patch! I’ll be spamming that eat button.”

The company didn’t confirm the exact date for the implementation of city maps in Starfield, but seeing as it’s already on the plans, we will eagerly await for official announcement.

In the meantime, if you are still struggling to guide yourself, here’s a momentary solution for your city tour troubles, and if you are suffering from stuttering and performance issues, this guide can help you.
