Pokemon Go players sick of “wrong” counters costing them 5-star Raids

Beating most 5-Star Raids in Pokemon Go requires a certain number of trainers using the right counters to conquer the Legendary boss. But players bringing hilarious weak Pokemon to the battle has ticked off many as it makes the bout more challenging to win.

5-Star Raids in Pokemon Go are some of the toughest battles in the game as they host powerful Legendaries, but with sufficient trainers and teams of the right Pokemon that take advantage of the boss’ weaknesses, you can get the job done.

That said, when a trainer or two brings counters that are either weak or don’t deal any super-effective damage to the Raid boss, it can get incredibly frustrating for those who are eager to win the Raid quickly or are shiny hunting.

Such a scenario was highlighted by a Reddit user named ‘PokeDork802’ who shared a screengrab of them attempting a Landorus Therian 5-Star Raid in Pokemon Go that showed a fellow trainer using a Stantler in the battle.

The OP captioned their post with: “Who brings Stantler to a 5* raid?” and added: “It doesn’t even have an ice or water move,” referring to the weaknesses of the Legendary Landorus Therian.

Several Pokemon Go fans could relate to the post as they wasted no time in joining the comments section to share their frustrations as some of them pointed out that such players are likely low-level.

“Many low-level players still don’t have good counters. Then there [are] those who are just used to piggybacking on others and don’t bother having a good counter,” a user explained as another added: “I mean I’ve seen worse.”

More trainers called such instances “infuriating” as one stated: “I think some people just want to be carried and could care less about counters.”

Another mentioned: “Likely an inexperienced player who doesn’t understand how to properly raid,” as many new trainers have no other choice but to roll along with whatever Pokemon they have in their collection.

While players often find such low CP Pokemon hilarious, one user shared an experience that tells why the community is upset with such counters being used in Raid battles.

“I invited a level 50 player to a Lando raid. She brought a Jynx, a Lapras, and a Walrein. We were speechless. Was she trolling us? Was she trying to make us lose on purpose?” the player wrote before commenting: “I can get low-level players using crappy Pokémon, but a max-level player has no excuse to troll people like this.”

If you are looking to catch some really good general Raid counters in Pokemon Go, here are the top attackers and also those with the highest CP.
