Pokemon Go players reveal tips to complete Johto catches quickly for Shaymin Research
NianticThe grueling shiny Shaymin Special Research in Pokemon Go requires you to catch 492 Pokemon from each of the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh regions. With most stuck on the Johto quest, a few players have shared some simple tips to complete it in no time!
To get shiny Mythicals in Pokemon Go, trainers take on a long and challenging Special Research filled with daunting tasks. With the quest for shiny Shaymin in full swing, players are grinding hard to catch 492 Pokemon from each of the first four Generations.
While the other three Gens are getting done easily, most players are finding it incredibly hard to progress in the Johto task.
But, when Reddit user ‘FeistyAndrea’ posted: “The Johto ‘mons have been a STRUGGLE. How we all doing with this?” a few players chimed in with some easy ways to get the job done in little time.
Many users stated they’re slowly catching Johto Pokemon, with Ledyba and Wooper spawns raking in the numbers, but they are still far from completing the task.
This prompted others to highlight a surprisingly simple tip to complete the entire Johto haul within an hour, the Hoppip Spotlight Hour.
Hoppip is a Grass/Flying-type Gen 2 species that would spawn all around your location in Pokemon Go, and even be attracted to Incense and Lure Modules during its Spotlight Hour event on March 26, 2024, between 6 PM and 7 pm local time.
“Looking forward to Hoppip hour,” a fan wrote before another trick came to light in the comments. “Don’t forget Smeargle from photobombs is Johto.”
Mega Tyranitar is in Raids until March 21, and with soloing being possible, it’s a great way to pump up the collection for the task. You should know that for each of the four tasks, you need any 492 Pokemon from that region, not 492 unique species.
