Boxes are a convenient way for Pokemon Go players to get useful items in the game but the prices of Egg Incubator Boxes have fans split over their value, with some calling them a “waste” while others feel it is a “great deal.”

Hatching Eggs with Incubators is one of the most popular activities in Pokemon Go as it gives fans a greater chance of getting Pokemon with high stats.

But not all Eggs are built the same as the 10km and 12km versions hatch rarer and stronger species. Funnily enough, 2km Eggs frequently feature event-exclusive Pokemon with a boosted shiny rate.

This often requires hatching multiple Eggs and they can get the job done easily with more Incubators, which can be obtained from Boxes in the in-game shop.

So, when recent Egg Incubator Boxes were revealed, the Pokemon Go community debated if the amount of PokeCoins required to purchase them was justified or not.

After Reddit user ‘asteri_agaliarept’ showed a screengrab of a Hatch Box worth 7,000 PokeCoins in Pokemon Go and asked, “Saw this box today; who just has 7K coins to drop on Incubators?” it sparked a debate in the comments section about whether these Boxes are worth the money.

Many users called the price “extreme” and even stated that hatching Eggs “just feels like a waste.” Others outright said that they “wouldn’t buy it,” while slamming Pokemon Go devs Niantic for being “out of control with the Box prices.”

But the comments also showcased a section of fans who felt that the Boxes were a good deal. Users wrote: “It’s a lot cheaper in the long run to buy them in Boxes,” and: “It’s a lot but also, you would save ~10K PokeCoins compared to buying separately.”

Players also argued that “7000 is too much, but Eggs are a ridiculously good source of Stardust” as another mentioned that hatching Eggs is the “most exciting part of the game.”

The PokeCoins needed to purchase an Egg Incubator Box in Pokemon Go is certainly high but they do provide a lot of long-term value for players who are looking to collect Stardust and catch some of the most popular species in the game.
