Pokemon Go players call for Gym limit mechanic change

Trainers have been complaining about a lot of Pokemon Go’s anti-QoL policies, but this mechanic is one of the most criticized among players.

For Pokemon Go players, having to fight against the game’s myriad of errors is stressful enough. Even during important events, the game has failed them constantly. And even though players often voice out their complaints, Niantic doesn’t seem too inclined to offer QoL improvements.

One of the most requested improvements has to do with the Pokemon Gym limit, and a group of players have had enough of it.

Reddit user RedNinja629 shared their distraught with the rest of the community by saying: “Sorry, you’ve reached the limit of Pokemon you can assign to gyms,” while showcasing a picture of several Pokemon stuck at gyms for ages.

This Pokemon Go player also stated that they only want their Pokemon back and that they “miss them.” Players quickly gathered to slam Niantic for not allowing them to use a “Return” feature to bring their Pokemon back from Gyms.

One of them wrote: “I wish Niantic got a clue already, we need that Return button ASAP!” Meanwhile, another frustrated player stated: “At least increase the Gym Limit to 50 Pokemon, what is that? It’s a joke!”

Some trainers even started to joke around the fact that the OP seemed to be a rural player, and one of them said: “This dude is playing in a town where the mine stopped producing coal and everyone moved on.” And another one said: “Bros actually playing in radiator springs,” referring to the popular animated movie ‘Cars.’

Jokes aside, this Gym limit issue and the lack of a Return button seem to be a persistent source of stress for Pokemon Go players. In the unlikely case that Niantic decides to fix them, we will let you know.
