Players have revealed the harsh truth about Pokemon Go in-game currency: it is never enough. Now, trainers confess having spent thousands on the game.

Pokemon Go has microtransactions, and most players try to balance out the free-to-play content the game offers with paid tickets and other premium features. But when the need arises, do players purchase in-game currency AKA PokeCoins? The answer is yes, they do.

As a matter of fact, Pokemon Go players have spent hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on the game, and here’s what they “confessed” to have purchased with all that money.

Thanks to Reddit user ‘SilasBeit’ and their post asking other players “how much have you spent?” many trainers have revealed that they’ve spent hundreds of dollars if not thousands while playing Pokemon Go.

There’s a catch, though, as some players stated that they “only spent Google Survey money” on the game. Others expressed to have found similar ways to get “pocket money” to spend in PokeCoins. However, a player confessed to having “spent a fortune” while playing the game: “Hundreds in game. Thousands if you include travel and accommodation to various Pokemon go events over the last 8 years.”

And it doesn’t stop there, since another player who has played since day 1 also added: “Probably a good $5000 or so total when adding up the past whale spending, GO Fests, and some community activities like Pokebuses and stuff.”

Meanwhile, Reddit user ‘rquinain’ also checked his past spending and declared: “I went through my receipts and I actually have only spent $2777 USD over the past 7.5 years. I vastly overestimated how much I spent but I think since picking up the game again and becoming even more hardcore.”

As these trainers reveal Pokemon Go is alive and well thanks to their contributions. After all, someone has to pay for the game to remain free to play and offer lots of content like the upcoming Bug Out event.
