Niantic have announced the Pokemon Go Detective Pikachu Returns event, and players want to know everything about this themed event, from how to claim its rewards to its special Research. Here’s all you need to know.

Pokemon Go is entering the next chapter of the Adventures Abound season, and players who want to participate in the next great event titled Pokemon Go Detective Pikachu Returns should know what’s ahead of them.

Here’s all you need to know about the Detective Pikachu Returns event in Pokemon Go, including the start date, special Research tasks, encounters, bonuses, and more.

Pokemon Go Detective Pikachu Returns event start date

The Pokemon Go Detective Pikachu Returns event will run from October 5, at 10 AM, to October 9, at 8 PM local time.

Trainers who want to participate in the event will have to be prepared for a lot of special Field Research, and a special Timed Research.

Pokemon Go Detective Pikachu Returns event encounters

The following Pokemon can appear in wild encounters during the Pokemon Go Detective Pikachi Returns event. Those marked with a (*) can be shiny:

  • Pikachu wearing a detective hat*
  • Growlithe*
  • Slowpoke wearing a hat*
  • Alolan Exeggutor*
  • Magikarp*
  • Xatu
  • Bellossom
  • Lotad*
  • Chimecho*
  • Bronzor*
  • Ducklett
  • Cutiefly
  • Falinks
New outfits Pokemon Go
Event-themed outfits and trainer poses will be available in the in-game store.

Keep in mind that evolving a Pikachu with a detective hat will yield you a Raichu with the same attire.

Pokemon Go Detective Pikachu Returns event Field & Timed Research

Field Research tasks will be available during the Pokemon Go Detective Pikachu Returns event, and will yield encounter rewards with the following Pokemon:

  • Sudowoodo*
  • Snivy*
  • Rowlet

Those marked with a (*) can be encountered in their shiny versions.

Field Research tasks will help you complete an event-themed Collection Challenge.

These are all of the Wild Encounters available during the event.

Timed Research

A Timed Research story will be also available during the event. Players will need to complete Field Research tasks to earn an encounter with Pikachu wearing a detective hat.

Keep in mind that Timed Research expires at the end of the event. The tasks for the Research must be finished and their rewards must be claimed before Monday, October 9, 2023, at 8 PM local time.

During the Pokemon Go Detective Pikachu Returns event, the following bonuses will be active:

  • 2x XP for spinning PokeStops
  • Daily encounter with Detective Hat Pikachu by taking a snapshot

Additionally, a new avatar pose and themed outfit will be available in the game store for all players.
