Despite being in Early Access, Palworld has sold millions of copies on Steam and boasts tons of active players on Xbox as well. Many PlayStation and Nintendo Switch fans are eager to try out the game, and here’s everything we know about Palworld coming to Nintendo Switch.

Palworld surprisingly became one of the biggest hits of 2024 as millions of players are enjoying it on Xbox and PC. Although the title has been available through Game Pass since launch, it’s been purchased heavily on Steam as well and the developers are working to implement changes based on the feedback.

Palworld instantly caught the attention of the Pokemon community due to its concept of catching Pals in spheres. However, now that the game has been out for a few weeks, it is easy to understand how other titles like The Legend of Zelda and Ark also inspired Pocket Pair.

If you don’t own an Xbox or PC but want to try out Palworld, here’s everything there is to know about its release on the Nintendo Switch.

Is Palworld on Nintendo Switch?

No, Palworld is not available on Nintendo Switch at launch. During its early access period, the game is only on PC as well as Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, with no PlayStation or Nintendo Switch version in the pipeline.

Pals in Palworld
Palworld arrived on January 19, 2024.

The devs confirmed in the official Discord server that they will “consider” launching it on PS5 while they are working on the game, but its future on Nintendo platforms hasn’t been addressed at the time of writing.

However, although the devs haven’t confirmed a Switch release, that doesn’t mean that it won’t arrive at a later date. Given that Palworld is widely considered to be an alternative to Pokemon, it seems likely that Pocket Pair will want to tap into that community, eventually.

As for Nintendo, their CEO Shuntaro Furukawa clearly stated that they will “take appropriate action against those that infringe our intellectual property rights.” More details on these actions are yet to be revealed.

Many Pokemon players have called out Palworld for its similarities, but with another entry in the series likely to be months away, it’s hardly surprising that fans with access to a PC or Xbox have given the game a try.

Only time will time will tell if the devs decide to go head-to-head with the iconic series by releasing Palworld on Nintendo Switch. We’ll be sure to update this page with any details as soon as they’re announced.
