Enchantments help players make their tools and weapons powerful in Minecraft and XP lets you combine and put these enchantments on weapons. If you’re running out of XP and its hindering your progress, check out these best XP farms in Minecraft.

From mining to killing mobs, almost every action in Minecraft grants players some XP. You might not realize its importance until you unlock enchantments for your Bows, Swords, Armor, and Tridents, among other things.

XP in Minecraft lets you combine enchantments and put them on the desired tools. Moreover, if you have Mending enabled, you’ll require XP to increase the durability of your weapons.

Now that it’s clear that XP is such an important resource, let’s take a look at the best methods to farm XP in Minecraft.

Top 10 Minecraft XP farms

10. Mob spawner Minecraft XP farm

Minecraft players can set up a mob spawner XP farm in dungeons where they find mob spawners for zombies, skeletons, or spiders. We recommend setting up a farm for skeletons as they’re relatively easy to kill and drop great loot.

Spawner XP farm in Minecraft

How to make mob spawner XP farm:

  1. Find a mob spawner block in a dungeon. Remove the chests from the nearby area and light it with torches to avoid mobs spawning.
  2. Clear the area around the spawner. Ideally, you can clear four blocks of radius and two blocks above and below the spawner. In the end, you should have a 9×9 area with five blocks of height.
  3. Dig some extra blocks where you can place two fences and a dirt block. Then, fill the entire area with water (use buckets) in a manner that the water flows toward the dirt block.
  4. Make an upward elevator of 27 blocks above the dirt block and replace it with Soul Sand. At the top, dig three blocks forward and place a sign.
  5. Dig 23 blocks under the sign. The end of this tunnel is where mobs will fall. Place a hopper and connect it to the chests. You can also add slabs to stop the mobs from hitting you.
  6. Now, return to the spawner and place a slab on it. Remove the torches to start the spawning process.
  7. Lastly, stand in front of the slab and continue killing the mobs that spawn.

9. AFK fish Minecraft XP farm

From books and saddles to fishing rods and name tags, you can get a ton of resources and XP from fish in Minecraft. As compared to other farms, this one’s fairly easy to make with the help of the following items:

  • Chests
  • Hopper
  • Glass
  • Signs
  • Rails
  • Minecart with Hopper
  • Lava bucket

The quantity of these materials largely depends on the design you’ve chosen for your fish farm. Because you’ll be fishing at a much faster rate, the odds of getting rare drops will also increase significantly.
