The Royal Guard armor set is a fantastic early-game item for players to get in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Here’s how to get all three pieces of the Royal Guard armor set in Zelda TOTK.

As players journey their way through The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, they’ll discover plenty of armor sets and gear that Link can equip. Most gear will provide Link with a bonus, such as a defensive boost or more attacking power.

While players will naturally stumble across the many armor sets in TOTK, it is worthwhile to search for some of the better equipment, especially early on in their journey. Players looking to increase Link’s survivability in TOTK will want to get the Royal Guard armor set.

What is Royal Guard armor set in Zelda TOTK

The Royal Guard armor provides increased defense in Zelda TOTK.

The Royal Guard armor set in Zelda TOTK offers no special bonuses, but it does provide Link with a base defense of 12 when all three pieces are worn together. It certainly isn’t the most flashy or powerful armor set in TOTK, but it is one of the best around when players are working through the early stages of the game.

Due to its accessibility early on and the defensive buff it provides, plenty of players are looking to get the Royal Guard armor set in TOTK.

All three pieces of the Royal Guard set can be found in Hyrule Castle. Head to the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower and glide your way to the castle.

How to get Royal Guard Cap in Zelda TOTK

Zelda’s room is located on the west side of the castle.

The Royal Guard Cap in TOTK can be found in Zelda’s room on the west side of Hyrule Castle. To get the Royal Guard Cap, you’re going to want to start in the Sanctum, which is the room near the entrance of Hyrule Castle.

The left exit will bring you outside where you should see a tower in the distance, as seen in the image above. Glide to the tower entrance to reach Zelda’s Study. Once you exit the study, you’ll have to run across a bridge to reach Princess Zelda’s Room. However, the bridge will collapse, so make sure to run across quickly.

Players can also glide directly to the western tower from the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower. You’ll find the Royal Guard Cap in a treasure chest behind dividers.

How to get Royal Guard Boots in Zelda TOTK

Look for a secret room behind the bookcase.

The Royal Guard Boots are located in the Library at the back end of Hyrule Castle in Zelda TOTK. Use the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower to glide to the back of the castle. You’re looking for the Serutabomac Shrine on the northeast sector of your map.

Once you’ve located the Shrine, drop down once more to reach an entrance beneath the Shrine. Follow the long path down the stairs that leads into the Library. Immediately drop down to the floor of the Library, turn around, and use Ultrahand to pull aside a portion of a bookcase.

You’ll find the chest containing the Royal Guard Boots in the hidden room.

How to get Royal Guard Uniform in Zelda TOTK

Look for the small entrance on the west side of Hyrule Castle.

The Royal Guard Uniform item in TOTK is located in the Guard’s Chamber, underneath the First Gatehouse. Once again, start from the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower and glide to the west side of the castle.

The image above shows the exact entrance you’re looking for. Use Ultrahand to lift the gate and carry on forward, turning left after the second gate. Head left again along the red-carpeted hallway, and one final left down the stairs at the end of the hallway.

Once in the Guard’s Chamber room, use Ascend on the far wall facing you as you enter. This will take you to a ledge where you’ll find the chest containing the Royal Guard Uniform.
