Winter has arrived Los Santos with the GTA Online Winter Update, and players can unlock the new WM 29 Pistol through a brand-new event inspired by Die Hard. Here’s how to unlock the WM 29 Pistol in Grand Theft Auto Online.

GTA Online’s Winter update has arrived, covering Los Santos in snow and bringing some Holiday-themed challenges and events. Alongside collecting all of the snowmen to unlock the Snowman Outfit, Rockstar have confirmed they’re in the ‘Die Hard is a Christmas movie’ camp, bringing a John McClane-themed event to Los Santos.

By completing the Die Hard event, you can get the new WM 29 Pistol for free. Here’s how to trigger the event and unlock the WM 29 Pistol in GTA Online‘s Winter update.

How to unlock WM 29 Pistol in GTA Online Winter update

To unlock the WM 29 Pistol in GTA Online, players have to head to the Weazel Plaza building and then kill and loot the marked target on the roof.

The Weazel building is based on the real-life Fox Plaza, which was also used as Nakatomi Plaza in the original Die Hard movie. The event is clearly inspired by Die Hard, with an explosive shootout taking place on the roof as police helicopters surround the building.

Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of everything you have to do:

Make sure you’ve been in a GTA Online session for at least 20 minutes.
Wait until it’s between 8 PM and 6 AM in-game.
Head to the Weazel Plaza building in the Rockford Hills area of Los Santos.
Fly up to the roof and kill all of the enemies.
Loot the body of the marked target to pick up the WM 29 Pistol — he should be in a tan suit.
Repeat these steps to find a wallet with $25,000 each time.

Once completed, the WM 29 Pistol will be yours for free, then you can head to Ammu-Nation for some upgrades.
