Fortnite Chapter 4 is here with plenty of exciting crossovers already lined up, and Epic Games’ Chief Creative Officer Donald Mustard has seemingly teased that Die Hard’s John McClane could be here in time for the Holidays.

With December now here, almost all of the biggest live service games are bringing the festivities. Apex Legends brings the Wintertide collection event and Modern Warfare 2 gives the Shipment map a festive overhaul, but of course, Fortnite will be celebrating as well.

You can expect both new and returning skins in the Item Shop during the Winterfest 2022 event, and a top Epic Games dev might have just teased a Die Hard crossover in time for the Holidays.

Epic Games’ Chief Creative Officer Donald Mustard has tweeted several Fortnite teases over the years, including Chapter 3’s unexpectedly early arrival and Kevin the Cube’s return, and his latest teases a Die Hard crossover in time for the festive season.

Tweeting on December 10, Mustard showed off a Die Hard advent calendar that makes Hans Gruber fall further down Nakatomi Plaza each day, and said that “[in my opinion], it’s the greatest Christmas movie of all time.”

Of course, Mustard’s tweet has tons of replies with players speculating a Die Hard crossover is coming soon. And while this tweet might not be much to go off, it’s not just Mustard’s history of posting teasers that have fans convinced a Die Hard crossover is on the way.

As popular leaker HYPEX explained, a Die Hard collab was included in a list of upcoming crossovers that was revealed through Epic’s trial with Apple. HYPEX showed the image from the document with John McClane crawling through the air vent, lighter in hand.

Mustard tweeting about Die Hard and confirming it’s a Christmas movie combined with the document makes a John McClane skin extremely likely, perhaps during the 2022 Winterfest event.

John McClane has already appeared in Warzone and Call of Duty Mobile, so expect him to hit the Item Shop during Chapter 4 Season 1. On top of that, there’s also a collab with anime My Hero Academia and top YouTuber MrBeast coming in December.
