How to get the Flare Gun in Fortnite

Fortnite’s Flare Gun is a ranged weapon that can be used to mark enemies, and if you’re wondering how to get your hands on it to complete a Weekly Quest then we’ve got you covered.

When you hop into Fortnite, you’ll find a variety of different items to collect after jumping from the Battle Bus, including shields as well as ranged and melee weapons that are spread out across the map.

One weapon that’s been unvaulted in Fortnite’s 23.40 update is the Flare Gun, and if you wish to use it to complete a Weekly Quest then we’ll go over where you can find it in the battle royale title.

Where to find the Flare Gun in Fortnite

The Flare Gun can be collected as loot from the ground, Chests, and Supply Drops, so you should be able to find it just by searching around the map after hopping out of the Battle Bus at the start of a Fortnite match.

It isn’t rare loot but it may still take a short while of searching before you’re able to get your hands on this weapon. We recommend stocking up on powerful weapons and a few healing items in case you run into enemies.

How to use the Flare Gun to mark an opponent in Fortnite

Once you’ve acquired the Flare Gun, you can use it to mark enemies by aiming it toward the sky and then firing it in the air. This will then let you see enemies through walls within a 50-meter radius.

Here’s how you can get this done:

Hop into a game of Fortnite.
Search around the map until you acquire the Flare Gun.
Equip the Flare Gun.
Aim it towards the sky.
Press the shoot button to fire it in the air.

You only need to mark one opponent in order to complete the Fortnite Chapter 4, Season 1 Week 11 Quest. Doing so will award you 16,000 XP for your efforts.
