Farming League Points in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet will ensure that you have enough currency to buy all of the items you’ll ever need. Here’s how to get LP and use it in Scarlet & Violet.

During your playthrough of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you may have noticed the term LP crop up from time to time. LP, also known as League Points, is a new concept in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet.

As a valuable in-game currency that the player is rewarded with throughout their journey, it’s only natural that you’ll amass a large amount. However, what are League Points used for and how can you farm them with ease? We’ll let you know the best methods for earning LP down below.

What are League Points & how to use them in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Pokemon Scarlet Violet LP TM Machine

League Points in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are an in-game currency that can be used to purchase valuable items. LP is separate from the coin currency that you’ll see in-game.

In Scarlet and Violet, League Points are most prominently used to craft TMs for your Pokemon at the TM Machine. TMs in Scarlet and Violet are one-time use, meaning LP is valuable for teaching the same move to a few of your Pokemon.

To use LP in Scarlet and Violet, roll up to any Pokemon Center and visit the TM Machine desk in green. Once there you can exchange materials and LP for TMs. If you’re short on LP, you can also exchange materials for LP at the TM Machine.

You can also spend LP at various shops across Paldea to purchase new clothes and items like Poke Balls and Potions.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: How to earn League Points

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players can use a few methods to earn League Points and we’ll break them down for you.

Altaria Pokemon Scarlet Violet

LP for interacting with Tera Raid Battles, Dens & Tera Type Pokemon

Interacting with the new Tera Raid mechanic in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will allow players to earn a ton of LP. For starters completing a Tera Raid Battle will reward players with League Points.

In addition, interacting with Tera Raid Dens, also known as Tera Raid Crystals across Paldea will result in the accumulation of LP. You don’t even need to take part in the battle to earn LP. You can find Tera Raid Dens marked on your map.

Also, if you come across sparkling Tera Type Pokemon in the wild, like the one in the image above, defeating it or capturing it will net you League Points.

Exchange material for LP at TM Machines

As previously mentioned, you can exchange materials for League Points at TM Machines across Paldea. Materials are drops you receive for defeating or catching Pokemon. You can also pick them up as an item in the wild.

Material and LP combine to craft TMs in Scarlet and violet. Klawf Claw, Bombirdier Feather, and Cyclizar Scales are all examples of material in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Earn LP by taking on Team Star

The three main story paths in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet will provide players with LP. None will be more rewarding than the Team Star section of the story also known as Operation Starfall or Starfall Street Story.

As you take on the Team Star bosses and raid their bases, Cassiopeia will reward you with a massive amount of LP. While there are only five Team Star basses in the game, you’ll have the opportunity to rematch the bosses and earn even more LP in the post-game.

The Team Star bosses will boast Level 65 Pokemon for the rematches, so prepare some powerful Pokemon before your attempt. You can only rematch one boss per day, but it’s still a consistent source of LP.
