How to find Hogwarts Legacy Daedalian Keys: Locations & House Chest rewards

Hogwarts Legacy has a dynamic open world that gives you enough opportunities to open chests and collect gear, gold, and other rewards. There are 16 Daedalian Keys to open the House Cabinets in Hogwarts Legacy, and here’s how to find them all.

Now that Hogwarts Legacy is finally here for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 users, Harry Potter fans have the opportunity to visit familiar locations, and there are also a few secrets hidden across the map that are waiting to be discovered.

There’s a quest that requires you to find Daedalian Keys around Hogwarts. These are floating keys that you can use to open House Cabinets around the map and collect a bunch of amazing House Chest rewards.

How to find Daedalian Keys in Hogwarts Legacy

There are a total of 16 Daedalian Keys in Hogwarts Legacy and before you can collect them, you’ll need to progress through the story until you learn the Alohomora spell. Once that’s done, you’ll need to speak with Nellie Oggspire in the Astronomy Tower to start this Quest.

Here’s what you need to do:

1. Progress through the main story until you learn the Alohomora spell.
2. Complete the “Welcome to Hogsmeade” Story Quest.
3. Go to the Astronomy Tower.
4. Speak with Nellie Oggspire and Daedalian Keys will pop up on the map.
5. Use the Revelio spell to reveal each Daedalian Key.
6. Follow the Daedalian Key until it reaches the House Cabinet.

How to open House Cabinets in Hogwarts Legacy

You can open each House Cabinet in Hogwarts Legacy after the Key reaches its destination by waiting until the Key points toward the keyhole. Once that happens, you will need to hit it to unlock the House Cabinet. 

All Daedalian Key locations in Hogwarts Legacy

Astronomy Tower Daedalian Key location

You can find the first Daedalian Key by taking the wooden stairs until you reach the Astronomy Room. The Daedalian Key will be next to the Cabinet in the room. 

Defence Against the Dark Arts Daedalian Key location

Make your way to the Defence Against The Dark Arts Tower in the game and go up the stairs across from the skeleton. You’ll then find the Cabinet by a group of students. 

Potions Classroom Daedalian Key location

Head to the Potions Classroom and use the staircase on the left after going through the wooden doors to find the House Cabinet. 

Central Hall Daedalian Key locations

Go downstairs and turn right at the unicorn statue. Then, you’ll need to head down another set of stairs and turn left to find the Daedalian Key. The Cabinet will be located at the opposite end of the hall. 

You can find another Cabinet after heading up the stairs and looking behind the smaller staircase to the right. After that, you’ll need to go back down the stairs and turn right. 

The Great Hall Daedalian Key locations

Make your way towards The Great Hall and you’ll find the House Cabinet down the stairs on the right from the entrance. Another Cabinet can be found up the stairs, opposite the fireplace. 

Once you’ve found those two, take the doors that lead outside The Great Hall and head downstairs until you reach the serpent statue. Just follow the Key to the bottom of the stairs and you’ll find the third one. 

Faculty Tower Daedalian Key locations

Go to the Faculty Tower and take the stairs until you reach the room with the balloons to find the first Key. Head back down the stairs and you’ll find the House Cabinet behind the staircase. 

Once that’s done, run up the stairs of the Faculty Tower and go through the hallway that has magic paintings on the walls. You’ll find the second Key at the very end of the hallway and will need to follow it to the cabinet by the bronze statue.

Library Daedalian Key location

Go to the Library and take a right towards the fireplace. The Daedalian Key will be on the opposite side of the room.

Grand Staircase Tower Daedalian Key location

Go down the magic staircase and you’ll spot the Daedalian Key next to a painting. You can then follow it down the stairs toward the Cabinet. 

Clock Tower Courtyard Daedalian Key location

Use the Alohomora spell to open the locked door in the Clock Tower Courtyard, and take the stairs. You’ll then spot the Daedalian Key in the corner of the room, and the Cabinet will be further up the stairs. 

Bell Tower Courtyard Daedalian Key location

Visit the Bell Tower Courtyard and head up the first set of stairs. You can then find the Daedalian Key between the two pillars after going through the wooden door, and it will lead you to the Cabinet up the stairs.

The Map Chamber Daedalian Key locations

The first Daedalian Key in the Map Chamber can be found after going up the rounded staircase. It will be floating in the hallway by some cauldrons, and you can follow the Key into the room filled with wine barrels. 

The second Daedalian Key at this location is inside the room with the sleeping dragon statue, which you can visit by going through the same hallway where you found the first Key. The Daedalian Key will then lead you up the stairs to the House Cabinet. 

How to open the House Chest in Hogwarts Legacy

Opening each House Cabinet with the key will grant you a House Token, and claiming all 16 House Tokens will let you unlock the House Chest in your Common Room by hitting the interact button.
