Helldivers 2 features many difficult enemy types to defeat, and depending on the difficulty you’re playing on, or how experienced you are as a player, you may struggle.
As well as Bile Titans, Chargers are among the most challenging to deal with, not only because they are heavily armored, but also because they can chase you down at some speed, and kill you in just a couple of hits.
Their weakness is their back, but it’s tough to get damage off if you’re constantly being chased by them. That said, one player has discovered a genius trick to easily kill them.
Reddit user ‘Beelzebub003’ shared their method in the Helldivers subreddit, as they said, “if you are at a hive and a charger is chasing you, you can make the charger run into a hole, and it’ll kill itself AND destroy the hole.”
When taking on Terminids in Helldivers 2, you’ll be tasked with destroying Nests. To do so, you’ll need to destroy the glowing holes in which the aliens are coming from. Usually, players like to throw explosive Stratagems and Grendades on these holes, however, this player recommends directing a Charger straight into it, claiming it will kill the enemy and destroy the Nest.
It’s important to note that you may need some fast armor to help you run away from the Charger, and you’ll need to dive out of the way before it heads straight into the Nest, as you don’t want to get sandwiched.
“The Hammer of Family Values thanks you for this information fellow diver,” said one player, clearly thankful for the advice. Another replied, “I’m going to live for this from now on, thank you.”
Others weighed in on more ways the Chargers can actually help you complete objectives, as one comment read, “I use the chargers to wreck the buildings at the illegal lab,” while another said, “Chargers can also kill other terminids…just make the charger do all the work.”
