For those worried about Hogwarts Legacy’s development progress on PS4 and Xbox One, here are more details about its delay, and whether it affects the Nintendo Switch version of the game.

Hogwarts Legacy was one of the best-selling games in February 2023 and it lived up to its title as one of 2023’s most anticipated releases. Harry Potter fans were waiting for an open Wizarding World game for many years, and while their wishes came true, it was a long wait.

The game was originally set for 2021 but was then delayed until 2022. Hogwarts Legacy was then delayed for a third time, with the final release date being February 10, 2023.

While the game is currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, players using last-gen consoles will have to wait a little while longer as additional delays have been confirmed by the devs.

Here’s everything we know about the Hogwarts Legacy delay.

Hogwarts Legacy last-gen delay

The launch of Hogwarts Legacy on PS4 and Xbox One has officially been delayed once again. For last-gen consoles including the PS4 and Xbox One, Hogwarts Legacy has been delayed to May 5, 2023.

This is another chapter in a long line of delays as the game was most recently pushed back to April 4, 2023.

Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch version was originally pushed back to July 25, 2023. It’s unclear whether the latest delay will push the Switch version back even further, but at the moment, it’s still slated for July 25.

No doubt this will be extremely disappointing for those waiting for the game to release on these platforms, especially as there are still so many without the next generation of consoles.

Hogwarts Legacy PS4, Xbox One & Nintendo Switch release dates

  • Hogwarts Legacy PS4: May 5, 2023
  • Hogwarts Legacy Xbox One: May 5, 2023
  • Hogwarts Legacy Nintendo Switch: July 25, 2023

The devs have changed the release date for Hogwarts Legacy on multiple occasions, but for the time being, the above dates indicate when players on Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch can expect the game.

We’ll keep you posted with any additional changes concerning Hogwarts Legacy’s release on last-gen platforms.
