Hogwarts Legacy last-gen versions delayed again for PS4 & Xbox One
Hogwarts Legacy players hoping to play the acclaimed game will have to wait a little while longer as the devs announced yet another delay for the last-gen versions.
Avalanche Software’s Hogwarts Legacy was one of the biggest games to launch in 2023 so far. With a unique open-world to discover, players have been sinking countless hours into exploring the Wizarding World of Hogwarts.
While Hogwarts Legacy launched on February 10 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, it has yet to arrive on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
Players with last-gen consoles are eager to dive into Hogwarts Legacy, but despite their enthusiasm, it seems the wait has been extended yet again.
On March 6, the Hogwarts Legacy devs announced that the last-gen versions of the game for PS4 and Xbox One have been delayed yet again.
Hogwarts Legacy devs announce another delay for PS4 & Xbox One versions
The official Hogwarts Legacy Twitter account revealed that Hogwarts Legacy for PS4 and Xbox One will launch on May 5, 2023.
This isn’t the first delay that the Hogwarts Legacy devs had to reveal. The game was originally planned for a 2022 release before all versions were pushed back to 2023.
Then, the last-gen versions of Hogwarts Legacy on PS4 and Xbox One were delayed to April 4, 2023. Now, it seems like the devs need more time to polish this version, which explains the latest delay to May 5, 2023.
For those wondering, this planned delay should have no bearing on the July 25 release date of Hogwarts Legacy on Nintendo Switch. However, if this recent announcement does end up pushing the Switch version back, we’ll be sure to let you know.
Most players in the replies were understanding of the delay and were empathetic toward the development team. The devs had to make arrangements and work on multiple versions of the game on last-gen and current-gen consoles, as well as the Switch.
