The Marvel Rivals Closed Beta allows players to experience the 6v6 Hero shooter from NetEase early, providing access to the game’s maps, characters, and modes before launch.

The game sees players picking popular characters from Marvel to battle it out in intense objective-based matches, where teamwork is essential.

If you’re interested in the game, here’s everything you need to know about the Marvel Rivals beta.

Marvel Rivals Closed Beta end date & time

The Marvel Rivals beta kicked off on July 23 and will end on August 5 at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET / 8 AM BST. This means that players will have access to Marvel Rivals for almost two weeks.

How to join Marvel Rivals Closed Beta

  • Join on PC via Steam’s “Request” access button on the game page.
  • Through a friend who participates in the Invite Code event in the beta.
  • Via Marvel Rivals Twitch Drop rewards that start on July 25.

To join the Marvel Rivals Closed Beta Test, PC players will need to go to the game’s Steam page and click on “Request Access” under “Join Marvel Rivals Playtest.”

You’ll then need to await a confirmation email with a key. The console sign-up questionnaire has now closed, but there are other ways to get access if you’re on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

If you know someone with access, they can participate in the Invite Code event, which gives them a chance to earn a code each day after reaching level 6. There’s a limited batch daily, so try your best to reach the level and claim the code on the home screen as soon as possible.

You can also earn a chance to get a beta key through Marvel Rivals Twitch Drop rewards, which go live from July 25 to July 28.

Players who reached level 10 during the Closed Alpha Test are automatically qualified for the next playtest. Players who meet this criteria simply need to update their game once the test goes live to join in.

How to activate Marvel Rivals beta code


  1. Open Steam.
  2. Select Games on the top bar.
  3. Click the “Activate a Product” option.
  4. Enter your Marvel Rivals Closed Beta access code.
  5. Follow the instructions to install.

PlayStation 5

  1. Head to the PlayStation Store.
  2. Select the three dots in the top right of the screen.
  3. In the drop-down menu, select Redeem Code.
  4. Enter the Marvel Rivals Closed Beta access code.
  5. Download the game.

Xbox Series X|S

  1. Press the Xbox icon on your controller.
  2. Go to the Store.
  3. Select Redeem and then enter your Marvel Rivals Closed Beta code.
  4. Select check the code.
  5. Follow the instructions to install Marvel Rivals.

Marvel Rivals beta platforms

The Marvel Rivals Closed Beta is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. These are the only platforms the game will be on at launch too.

PS5 players who participate in the Closed Beta will be able to grab an exclusive Scarlet Spider skin for Spider-Man.

Is there crossplay in Marvel Rivals beta?

Marvel Rivals supports full crossplay between all the available platforms. This means that those on console can party up and play with those on PC.

That said, the competitive mode in Marvel rivals does not allow PC players to match with console users.
