Cyberpunk 2077’s Update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty expansion have greatly refined and overhauled the game’s experience. In addition, the game’s previously confusing skill tree has now been revamped, so here are the skill tree changes in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty, including a list of brand-new skills.

Cyberpunk 2077 has gained a lot of traction following the releases of Update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty, which brought many new features to the game like new vehicles, weapons, and even a brand-new district.

The game’s skill tree also received a makeover, with CD Projekt RED introducing a more refined version with Update 2.0. Prior to the update, navigating through the skill trees was a complicated affair. The skills were laid out into five main attributes, which were then separated into various subcategories.

So, here’s how the skill tree has changed in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty.

Skill tree overhaul explained in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty

The overhaul introduces a streamlined skill tree to Cyberpunk 2077, affecting both its visual appearance and the system itself. The total number of Perks has seen a significant reduction, while the subcategories present in each attribute have also been removed. These changes contribute towards slicker skill trees, making it easier for players to navigate through them.

The Perks in Cyberpunk 2077 now have a greater emphasis on active skills as opposed to passive ones. Instead of being simple percentage-based increases, numerous Perks add specialized abilities that can drastically affect builds and playstyles. Each tree carries three different kinds of Perks. These are separated by nodes of varying sizes.

The smaller nodes represent passive abilities, while the larger nodes or specialized skills located at the top take plenty of progression to unlock.

Speaking of visual design, some Perks feature neat references to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Characters including David Martinez, Rebecca, and Lucy all receive icons modeled after them.

The Relic skill tree is a brand-new addition to Cyberpunk 2077. As the name suggests, the skill tree taps into the chip present inside V’s head, which also happens to be carrying Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand.

The tree carries a total of nine perks, all overriding and enhancing the player’s cybernetic abilities. Here’s a list of all nine perks:

  • Launch Capacity Override
