A Reddit user found a detail on the GTA 6’s official art that seems to prompt the return of the map limitations feature. Check out what it’s about and what the community thinks about it.

The GTA community was delighted with the GTA 6 trailer highlighting, among many things, how realistic Vice City looks compared to Miami, the graphical improvements achieved, and the crazy IRL references in the trailer.

Even though Rockstar stated that GTA 6 will arrive in 2025, fans are already eager to know if the game will have an Online mode, if will arrive on last-gen consoles and PCs, and they also want to know more about Lucia, the only revealed protagonist so far.

GTA 6 fans are paying attention to every detail, no matter how small, and Reddit user ‘RudraRousseau’ found a detail on the game’s art that seems to indicate that “you won’t be able to explore the map right away.”

On the GTA 6’s art, Lucia can be seen alongside her boyfriend, whose name is still unknown. However, the OP found a police ankle tag on Lucia and quickly developed a theory about the early map limitations in GTA 6.

This fan explained that GTA 6 would return to having map limitations, similar to previous GTA titles or any of the Red Dead Redemption franchise (also developed by Rockstar Games). It’s expected that Lucia’s police ankle tag will limit the places we can explore in the early game, and fans claimed that would be “the perfect way to limit where we can go.”

Another user highlighted this discovery, “Really good observation. That’s smarter than putting physical limits to our movements.”

Experienced players familiar with the GTA franchise know that this feature has been present in most of the releases, with only a few exceptions like GTA 5. However, if RudraRousseau’s theory is confirmed, the community sees this as a “very intelligent” way to mark the explorable areas within GTA 6.
