Rockstar fans took the theory to Reddit, stating that the company is “trolling” with one of the latest Red Dead Online updates. A community-inspired outfit from Youtuber BoganBav might give out a hidden “VI” on its composition, driving fans to think a GTA 6 announcement is imminent.

It’s not weird for companies, and especially community managers, to troll their fans with upcoming announcements. The hype around GTA 6 is real, and Rockstar might be behind all this theory crafting that fans took to Reddit while overanalyzing one of the latest Red Dead Online updates.

If you look closely at the image that the official Rockstar Games X account posted, you will see that Reddit users are not entirely “wrong.”

“This month’s devilish and dapper Red Dead Online community-inspired outfit comes from YouTuber BoganBAV,” is what Rockstar’s community manager used to introduce the following image showcasing a new outfit surrounded by skulls, with fire on its back and with a very particular composition.

One might think this is “too much,” but players are thinking this has to be a “troll” from Rockstar. Even if the release date leak is real or ends up being fake, it would be no surprise that the company perfectly crafted this piece to generate this kind of conversation. In the end, even if this is just trolling, we know that the next entry of the Grand Theft Auto Series is in development, and Rockstar just wants to joke around.

The Reddit entry is not the only place you can find these speculations, and X users are commenting on Rockstar’s tweet about the theory, bringing more fans into this hype train of leaks and speculations over the possibility of Rockstar releasing a teaser trailer of the game or a release window for GTA 6.

Amidst all rumors and leaks, Rockstar is still missing an official statement on Grand Theft Auto VI’s development status and release window, but fans are quickly speculating alongside Rockstar, having some fun while theorizing on the matter.
