Stellar Blade features a variety of gorgeous environments to hack and slash through, but is the game open world? Here’s everything you need to know.

Stellar Blade has managed to drum up plenty of excitement for its release through an enjoyable demo that gives players a taste of combat and exploration. The game’s post-apocalyptic environments in particular have impressed players, leading some to wonder whether the sci-fi title is open world.

So, if you’re looking to explore Xion without any limitations, here’s whether or not Stellar Blade is open world.

Does Stellar Blade have an open world?

No, Stellar Blade is not an open world title. Instead, the game features semi-open world locations with diverging paths and hidden corners with secret rewards.

Game director, Hyung Tae Kim, had this to say about the game’s world on the PlayStation Blog, “Xion is connected to a semi-open world region called the Wasteland and the Great Desert, which harbor many secrets. You get to cross paths with many different people and go on adventures in these vast fields to fulfill Eve’s goals while also helping the citizens of Xion.”

As seen in the demo, Stellar Blade features some expansive environments packed with enemies and even platforming sections. But, the game remains linear in nature so you won’t be able to roam around with total freedom.

With that said, exploration remains an integral aspect of the game as you’ll be rewarded with new outfits to customize EVE.

That was whether or not Stellar Blade is an open-world title. For more on the biggest upcoming games. check out:
