How to preload Redfall: Dates, file size, platforms, more
Redfall’s release is just around the corner, so some may want to get prepared by preloading the game so they can jump straight on when it launches. Here’s our guide on how to preload Redfall.
Redfall is Bethesda and Arkane Studio’s upcoming open-world FPS game that sees players banding together to fight hordes of Vampires to uncover the mystery of the island and its monstrous inhabitants.
Many are excited to get their hands on the title and enjoy the main story with their friends, and with the May 2 release date not too far away, there is a way those who have pre-ordered the game can get ready for launch.
So, for those interested in pre-loading Redfall and also wanting to know how big the file size is for the game on its platforms, here’s our guide.
How to preload Redfall on PC & Xbox
As of April 27, 2023, players can now officially preload the full Redfall game, but you must make sure you have pre-ordered the title first or are an Xbox Game Pass member. Simply follow these steps if you wish to preload the title:
- Head to the Xbox Store on your system.
- Use the search to find and pre-order Redfall, or if you’re an Xbox Game Pass member, simply head to the game page.
- After you have purchased the game or have an Xbox Game Pass membership, there will be an option to download Redfall early on the game page.
- Simply click download, install the file, and wait for the game’s launch on May 2.
Players who preload Redfall should be able to play the title as soon as it lands on May 2 without having to do any download, letting you get straight to the action.
Redfall file size
Redfall’s file size is between 86 GB to 95 GB depending on the platform you wish to play on. This is a large file size, so you’re going to make sure the system you are playing on has at least around 100 GB of free space.
If you wish to play on PC, you also need to make sure your rig meets the PC requirements for the game.
Here’s a full breakdown of the Redfall file size according to the platform:
- PC: 95 GB
- Xbox Series X|S: 86 GB
While the Xbox Series X|S file size for Redfall is slightly less than the PC’s, you may need more than that to download extra content such as the Vampire Hunter Pack and Bite Back Edition content, so keep that in mind.
