Redfall is the hotly-anticipated co-op shooter from the team behind Dishonored and Prey, but will players with an Xbox Game Pass membership be able to slay vampires as part of their subscription?

Developer Arkane Studios has built up plenty of credibility over the years, thanks to the success of the Dishonored series and their Prey reboot from 2017. It’s no surprise then that their latest project, Redfall, is being tipped as one of the biggest games of 2023.

Set in the titular town of Redfall, Massachusetts, this co-op FPS forces players to use powerful abilities and teamwork to survive the hordes of vampires that have taken over the island.

Is Redfall coming to Xbox Game Pass?

The developers have confirmed that Redfall will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one when it launches on May 2, 2023. Anyone subscribed to the service will be able to stream or download Redfall for no extra cost.

This is hardly surprising as the game is being published by Bethesda Softworks, who were purchased by Microsoft in 2021, and will be arriving as a console exclusive on Xbox Series X/S.

Since the acquisition, a number of Bethsda’s recent titles have made their way to Game Pass, such as Deathloop and Hi-Fi Rush, with the publisher’s marquee title of 2023, Starfield also landing on the service on day one.

Which Redfall version is on Xbox Game Pass?

Xbox Game Pass subscribers will only have access to the Standard Edition of Redfall, which just contains the game itself and no extra bonuses. If players want to get the Redfall Bite Back Edition to earn extra skins and weapons, they will have to purchase it separately even if they have a Game Pass membership.

However, being able to play the regular version of Redfall on Game Pass is the perfect way for players who aren’t totally sold on the game to hop in and try it out with friends.
