Bandai Namco’s 3D fighting series is back with Tekken 8, and it also brought back one of the most beloved game modes, Tekken Ball. If you’re wondering what it exactly is, here are all the details.

The Tekken series has ended its nine-year slumber with the release of Tekken 8. It brings all the staples of the franchise—a big roster that has a few new faces, some returning features, as well as new gameplay elements.

Tekken Ball in Tekken 8 is a mini-game inspired by volleyball that you can play in the Beach area of the Tekken Fight Lounge.

In Tekkenball, your aim is to deplete enemy health to zero by using the volleyball. To do so, you simply hit the ball and target it towards the enemy or land the ball in the opponent’s half.

You can play Tekken Ball against the CPU offline.

As for the rules themselves, there are only a handful of things to keep in mind. You do not recover any damage you take. There is also a rage, and once you unleash it on the ball, it’ll target the enemy no matter where you hit.

There isn’t anything too deep in Tekken Ball, it is a simple mode that adds playfulness and is perfect for couch co-op sessions. Outside of local multiplayer, Tekken Ball can also be played online with other players.
