The Frosty Soul, unlike some of the other crafting items in WoW, is rather unique because it’s a soul that you need to collect by defeating certain enemies in the game.

You will also need to use specialized equipment if you want to obtain this crafting reagent, so this guide will tell you everything that you need to know about how to get it in World of Warcraft.

Where to find Frosty Soul in WoW

To find a Frosty Soul in World of Warcraft, you will have to make your way to the Azure Span at the co-ordinates 58.2, 66.6 and defeat an Awakened Elemental.

You will then have to capture their soul before you finish them off completely, but you will need two very specific tools to do so.

How to capture a Frosty Soul in World of Warcraft

To capture a Frosty Soul, you will need a Zapthrottle Soul Inhaler and Empty Soul Cages. Here’s where you can find these items:

Zapthrottle Soul Inhaler:
- Reagents: Handful of Serevite Bolts (6), Shock-Spring Coil (2), Everburning Blasting Powder (3), Greased-Up Gears (3), Arclight Capacitor (1), Reinforced Machine Chassis (1).
- Tools: Arclight Spanner, Gyromatic Micro-Adjustor
- Requires Engineering: Scrapper level 20.
Empty Soul Cage:
- Reagents: Fractured Glass (3), Rousing Air (2), Rousing Earth (2), Rousing Fire (2), Rousing Frost (2)
- Tools: Jeweler’s Tools
- Requires Jewelcrafting: Enterprising level 15.

If you don’t have the necessary levels, as mentioned above, you need to make your way to the Auction House and purchase it from there.

Awakened Elementals can be found in the Azure Span.

After you’ve obtained these two items, make your way to the Azure Span as mentioned above and locate an Awakened Elemental.

Here’s what you need to do once you find one:

Engage the Awakened Elemental, and reduce its health until only 10% remains.
Apply some damage over time effect, and then use the Zapthrottle Soul Inhaler on it.
By the time the soul is inhaled completely, the Awakened Elemental should die because of the status effect.
If you successfully do this, then you’ll receive an “Encaged Frosty Soul.”

You will also have the option to open the cage but do not do so. Instead, wait for around 15 minutes and you’ll see that it’s changed to Docile Frosty Soul. Now you can interact with the cage, and claim the Frosty Soul in WoW for yourself.

What are Frosty Souls used for in WoW

There are only a few items that require the Frosty Soul as a crafting ingredient in World of Warcraft. They are as follows:
