Here’s everything you need to know about how to fast travel in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Fast travel in Dragon’s Dogma 2 explained

Dragon’s Dogma 2 does not have a quick teleporter mechanic in the name of fast traveling. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t fast travel in some shape or form as the game offers some fun alternatives to try out.

There are two options for fast traveling in Dragon’s Dogma 2 including the use of a rare currency called Ferrystones or by using Oxcarts. Although some players might think that fast traveling in the game is quite limited, director Hideaki Itsuno feels otherwise.

Dragon’s Dogma 2’s massive world does not have conventional fast travel.

“Just give it a try. Travel is boring? That’s not true. It’s only an issue because your game is boring. All you have to do is make travel fun,” said Itsuno in an IGN Interview. “That’s why you place things in the right location for players to discover, or come up with enemy appearance methods that create different experiences each time, or force players into blind situations where they don’t know whether it’s safe or not ten meters in front of them,” Itsuno continued.

Dragon’s Dogma 2: How to fast travel using Ferrystones

Dragon’s Dogma 2 uses Ferrystones as a rare currency that players can buy or find during exploration and use to fast-travel to Port Crystals located in various regions across the map.

For the ones who have played the first game, Ferrystones will not be entirely foreign to them.

How to fast travel with Oxcarts in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Using Oxcarts is a brand-new fast travel feature in Dragon’s Dogma 2 which involves taking a cart and traveling great distances on the road. However, do not mix this up with the renowned Skyrim mechanic, as in Dragon’s Dogma 2, using Oxcarts could bring unwanted trouble.

In director Hideaki Itsuno’s words:

“While riding [Oxcarts], you might find the path blocked by goblins and have no choice but to get off and join the battle. Then as you do, a Griffin might swoop in and destroy the entire cart with one blow, forcing you to walk the rest of the way while cursing its name.”

Taking Oxcarts is a risky method for fast traveling in DD2. That was everything you needed to know about how to fast travel in Dragon’s Dogma 2. For more on the game, check out our other guides:
