Vocations in Dragon's Dogma 2

Although you have different Vocations in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you can select only one when you start your story. So which is the best Vocation to begin with in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

In Dragon’s Dogma 2, you will come across a total of 10 different Vocations, but not all of them will be available to you at the start. As you progress through the game, you will come across different individuals who will help you unlock the different Vocations.

Paying attention to the class that you select will make a huge difference in how you fare during the initial stages of the game.

During the first few missions, you won’t be dealing a lot of damage, and you will be somewhat squishy, so it’s important to choose a Vocation that can help you survive easily. So, which is the best Vocation for you to start your adventure in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

Best Dragon’s Dogma 2 starting Vocation

The best Vocation to start Dragon’s Dogma 2 with is the Archer. In the initial areas, you will come across a few Harpies. These creatures can fly, and if you’re on a pure melee class, it will be quite difficult to deal damage to them.

Not only that, using an Archer means you don’t need to get into close-ranged engagements. You can use your Pawns to deal with your enemies while you pick them off from afar.

When you start Dragon’s Dogma 2, you can select one of the four following Vocations, namely:

  • Thief
  • Fighter
  • Mage
  • Archer

Of these four classes, only the Mage and the Archer can deal ranged damage. While the Mage does depend upon Magicka to sustain their spells, the Archer does not have such limitations.

While being an Archer means that you’ll consume Stamina when you use your Precision Shot, you won’t need to worry too much about your arrows or anything else.

You can change your Vocation in the game anytime you want.

However, even this Vocation has its downsides in Dragon’s Dogma 2. During the initial stages of the game, you won’t be able to deal a lot of damage, so it might take you a little longer than usual to dispatch your enemies.

Interestingly enough, you’re not restricted to this Vocation so even if you don’t like playing as an Archer, you can change it by visiting a Vocation Guild in the game.

That sums up everything that you need to know about the best starting Vocation of Dragon’s Dogma 2. For more information about the game, be sure to check out the following links:
