Genshin Impact Navia build guide: Best Claymore, artifacts & teams

Navia in Genshin Impact

Navia is currently one of the limited banner rate-ups in Genshin Impact. If you’re all ready to style our elegant Geo queen with the best artifacts, weapons, and teams, here’s all you need to know about the best build for Navia.

Geo finally has some respectable representation on the charts for strong DPS in Genshin Impact after the introduction of Navia. We only ever had one strong DPS from the element, Itto, and now Navia is lifting the status with a panache that matches the antics of Itto.

Navia doesn’t just bring Geo back on the menu but also makes use of the Crystallize reaction, which was even more forgotten than Geo. She was introduced with version 4.3 of Genshin Impact and is up for grabs in the limited banner currently alongside Ayaka.

With all that said, here is how to build Navia in Genshin Impact.

How to play Navia in Genshin Impact

Navia in Genshin Impact is a Geo on-field DPS character. The highest damage comes from her Elemental Skill, which increases the more Elemental Shard you collect.

Every time you obtain an Elemental Shard created from a Crystallize reaction (dealing Geo DMG on enemies affected by Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, or Electro), Navia gains one “Crystal Shrapnel.” The more of these Shrapnel you have, the higher the damage you do with her Elemental Skills. This is capped at 6.

So, to put it simply, Navia’s playstyle is about creating Elemental Shards, collecting them, and letting everything go boom with her Elemental Skill.

You don’t have to worry about finding ways to trigger Crystallize and maintaining the stacks, it can be easily achieved in her standard rotation, which isn’t all that complicated.

Normal Attack

Navia has a fairly standard four consecutive strike Normal Attack, as seen elsewhere with other Claymore characters in Genshin Impact

While Navia’s Normal Attack isn’t what deals the most damage, it is useful as after using her Elemental Skill, her Normal Attack is infused with Geo DMG. This means easy access to Crystallize reactions.

Elemental Skill

The most important part of Navia’s kit is her Elemental Skill. During her skill, she uses her umbrella, aptly named Gunbrella. The Elemental Skill can be used twice.

The Gunbrella doesn’t just fire one bullet, it fires multiple pellets at a single time. The more Crystal Shrapnel you have, the higher the amount of bullets she fires. Precisely, on 0/1/2/3 or more charges, she fires 5/7/9/11 rounds. It is the reason why you’ll need shards, and the DMG also increases further if you have more such charges.

There will be visuals of bullets towards your left, indicating the charges. On one stack, you’ll see a small bullet; on three, you’ll see three small bullets; on the fourth, you’ll see the first bullet get twice as big; and likewise, on six charges, all three bullets get big.

Given the importance of her Elemental Skill, it is obvious that your upgrade priority should be her Elemental Skill first.

Elemental Burst

In her Elemental Burst, Navia unleashes a salute that does AoE Geo damage. After the initial bombardment, it continues to do periodic Geo DMG. The Elemental Burst also gives Navia one Crystal Shrapnel charge every 2.4 seconds. While the DMG is a bonus, the important part remains the charge gain and periodic Geo DMG, which enable Crystallize.

An explosion behind Navia in Genshin Impact

Best weapons for Navia in Genshin Impact

Verdict

Verdict is undoubtedly the best weapon for Navia in Genshin Impact. It is her signature weapon and is made for her. It has a sub-stat of CRIT Rate, which is plus on Navia, and the passive provides 20% ATK and increases the Elemental Skill DMG based on the amount of Crystallize Shards you pick.

Navia scales with ATK and most of her damage is locked behind Crystallize Shards. So, there is no contention here, and Verdict remains unanimously her best weapon.

Serpent Spine

Serpent Spine is another good weapon on Navia, but it is locked behind the Battle Pass. It has a sub-stat of CRIT Rate, which is important on DPS like Navia. Its passive provides an 8% DMG bonus every time you’re on the field for more than 4s of R1, max stack of 5.

While on its face the passive isn’t flattering given you have to be on the field for 20s to maximize it, you can wait for 20s before you begin content like Spiral Abyss, and it’ll still count.

Ultimate Overlord’s Mega Magic Sword

Another great and easily accessible (but only for a limited time) weapon is Ultimate Overlord’s Mega Magic Sword. It is the free 4-star Claymore you get in version 4.3’s main event, Roses and Muskets. It has a sub-stat of ER, which is decent for Navia as her Elemental Burst is fairly important, and passive increases ATK.

Furthermore, if you help Melusines in Merusea Village through the world quest, it’ll increase the ATK. It isn’t the best option, but it is on our list because of how easy it is to get, albeit only for a limited time.

Other 5-star options for Navia are Beacon of the Reed Sea, The Unforged, and Wolf Gravestone. Other best 4-star choices include Tidal Shadow.

Best artifacts for Navia in Genshin Impact

Before we delve into the specifics of the best artifacts for Navia in Genshin Impact, it is best to keep some things in mind. These are nothing but stats and a few other things you have to maintain across the board.

  • Always use ATK% Sands, Geo DMG Goblet, and CRIT Circlet (whichever is less Rate or DMG).
  • ATK is important on Navia, have as much ATK as possible without sacrificing CRIT.
  • ER is important on Navia too, so it is best to maintain around 120-130% ER or less if you have teammates with Favonious weapons.

Following are Navia’s best artifacts:

4pc Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing Woods

  • 2-Piece: ATK +18%
  • 4-Piece: Provides Geo DMG bonus of 20% for 10s after using Elemental Skill. Further increase the buff by 150% when under a shield granted by the Crystallize reaction.

Nighttime Whispers in the Echoing Woods is the best artifact for Navia, as it is tailored for her. The 2pc buff of ATK is useful as Navia is an ATK scaling character, and 4pc is centered around Crystallize, which Navia base kit already relies heavily on. It is recommended that you farm the set as it is cut above most other sets for Navia.

4pc Marechaussee Hunter

Marechaussee Hunter is best in slot of most DPS when they’re paired with Furina.
  • 2-Piece: Increases Normal and Charged Attack DMG by 15%.
  • 4-Piece: When current HP increases or decreases, CRIT Rate will be increased by 12% for 5s. Max 3 stacks.

Marechaussee Hunter is another good artifact set for Navia, but it is only good when she is paired with Furina. One of her best teams currently has Furina, even though her base kit doesn’t have any HP fluctuation mechanics.

The set provides a 36% CRIT Rate bonus and with this set on you can now spare all the worries of CRIT Rate and focus more on CRIT DMG and ATK.

Other artifact options include pairing any of the 2pc ATK-providing ones with either similar ATK-providing, Geo DMG sets, or Golden Troupe.
