Genshin Impact version 4.8 new characters, Simulanka region & leaked features

During its monthly special program, HoYoverse revealed more details about what’s coming for Genshin Impact version 4.8. Besides confirming which characters you can pull during the next update, the devs revealed everything about the Simulanka region, Summer events, new outfits, and more.

Here’s everything confirmed so far about Genshin Impact version 4.8, as well as some of the details that have leaked.

When is Genshin Impact version 4.8 update?

HoYoverse confirmed that Genshin Impact version 4.8 will be released on July 17, 2024, following its usual six-week cycle.

New character & banners

Emilie is the brand new 5-star character that will be featured in Genshin Impact version 4.8 during phase 2. She is a strong Dendro character who wields a Polearm, whose kit revolves around the Burgeon reaction.

HoYoverse’s monthly program also confirmed every banner coming for the 4.8 version, which will feature the following characters:

• First Banner:
  • Navia — 5-star Geo Claymore user.
  • Nilou — 5- star Hydro sword user.
• Second Banner:
  • Emilie — new 5-star Dendro polearm user.
  • Yelan — 5-star Hydro bow user.

New events

Genshin Impact 4.8 will feature a new summer event and three re-runs to give players a chance to earn talent level-up materials:

• Summertide Scales and Tales: As the main event of this update, Summertide Scales & Tides will be featured in the new region, Simulanka. Players will have to complete its four stages to win Primogems, and a copy of Kirara with her special skin.

• Envisaged Echoes: This event will be a new chapter of the Imaginarium Theater, where users have to get special keys by completing Act 6 and using them to unlock exclusive cosmetics.
• Bing-Bang Finchball: During version 4.8, Bing-Bang Finchball returns with a new co-op mode. During this mini-game, players will have to launch balls into the target zones to score points and earn special ascension materials.
• Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens- Dew-kissed chapter: This will be the next stage of Outside the Canvas, the Inside the Lens Kamera event. This time, players will have to complete photo commissions by taking photos of their favorite characters.
• Energy Amplifier-Lemma: Akadeymia researcher Hosseini returns in 4.8 to present this new event, where players will have to test out their new Fontainian Amplifier creation while surviving waves of enemies.

New limited-time region

During version 4.8, players will be able to visit a time-limited region called Simulanka. This area is a world that exists within a magical storybook that will disappear when version 4.9 goes live.

Players who want to visit Simulanka will be welcomed by the Summertime Scales and Tales, the featured event of this update.

Boss QoL update

World Bosses will have their respawn time reduced to only 10 seconds. This will be introduced in the 4.8 update, and will allow players to quickly farm world boss materials, which are necessary for most characters’ ascensions.

Leaked Dialogue Review feature

Genshin Impact version 4.8 leaks have hinted at the introduction of a Dialogue Review button, which will help players who want to revisit everything said during dialogue.

This feature will be coming along with the rumored Hide UI feature, which is similar to the one that already exists in Honkai: Star Rail.
