Best Mods in Fallout Shelter

Most Fallout Shelter mods are dedicated to allowing players to tune their experience and disable most restrictions from the original game. If you’re wondering which are the best to try out, here’s a list of the first you should get for your Fallout Shelter Vault.

Fallout Shelter Modpack

The Fallout Shelter Modpack is the most popular collection of mods mainly dedicated to removing any time or resource restriction. Here’s the list of what it includes:

  • Coffee break button: Adds a button to a working dweller which can be used to send a dweller to a coffee break.
  • No destroy restriction: Destroy any kind of room anywhere.
  • Disable automatic camera movement
  • Disable rats appearing in empty rooms.
  • 100% scraping rate: Scraping items give their crafting materials.
  • Instant breeding: Dwellers mate instantly.
  • Instant crafting: Crafting rooms craft instantly.

How to install

  1. Download the mod from NexusMods.
  2. Go to your Fallout Shelter installation folder.
  3. Go to the “FalloutShelter_Data” folder.
  4. Unzip the “Mods” and “managed” folder from the downloaded mod to the FalloutShelter_Data.
  5. Overwrite the previous files.
  6. Restart your game. It should start with a title saying “Modded Fallout Shelter”.
  7. Go to the “Show Mod Settings” in the top left of the screen. Enable or disable every mod you want, as the “Rush never fails” option is the only one enabled by default.

Fallout Shelter Custom Outfits mod

This Fallout Shelter mod allows players to create their own outfits, tweak existing outfits, and tune every stat. Keep in mind that this mod is only supported on PC.

How to install

  1. Download the “ModInstaller tool” (Optional files category) from the “Fallout Shelter Modpack” mod.
  2. Download the “CustomOutfits” mod.
  3. Unzip the installer tool and the CustomOutfits mod too.
  4. Start “FSModInstaller.exe”
  5. Go to Fallout Shelter installation folder.
  6. Press “Add” and browse the “CustomOutfitsMod.dll”:
  7. Wait for the installation process to finish.
  8. Start the game and go to “Settings” then “Credits”. Check to see if they start with “Modded Fallout Shelter”, and then “Loaded mods: 1x.”
  9. Load a Vault then “Save & Exit”.
  10. Goto the installation folder of FalloutShelter then go to “FalloutShelter_Data”, then “Mods”. You should see a “CustomOutfits” folder there, which is created after loading a Vault.
  11. Place your new Outfits in the “CustomOutfits” folder.

Rock Loot Mod

The Rock Loot mod hides weapons and outfits in every rock you’ll encounter while building your Vault in Fallout Shelter. This means that players won’t only spend caps to remove them but can also get valuable rewards after doing so.

How to install

  1. Download the FSLoader mod installer tool created by modder robot9706, also responsible for Rock Loot mod.
  2. Download the “RockLoot” file from this mod.
  3. Unzip the RockLoot zip.
  4. Start the installer and follow the steps.
  5. When the installer requires a mod use the “RockLoot.dll”.

Colored Production Room Jumpsuits

Some Fallout Shelter players love to have everything tidy in their Vault, and the Colored Production Room Jumpsuits mod is just the thing to identify Dwellers and boost their SPECIAL skills.

You can assign a special color for each room, which comes in handy after sending Dwellers on a mission and easily spot which are their duties depending on which Jumpsuit they are wearing. Here are the special stats that come with each set:

  • The red jumpsuit grants +5 Strength for your power technicians.
  • The blue jumpsuit grants +5 Perception for your water technicians.
  • The green jumpsuit grants +5 Agility for your food technicians.
  • The yellow jumpsuit grants +5 Endurance for your Nuka-Cola bottler technicians.

  2. Download “Colored Production Rom Jumpsuits v1.1” from NexusMods.
  3. Extract the files of the mod to “FalloutShelter_Data\Mods\CustomOutfits”.
