If you want to enjoy better co-op sessions in Elden Ring, you will need the help of the ‘Seamless Coop’ multiplayer mod. So, here’s how to download and install the Elden Ring multiplayer mod, as well as all features.

Elden Ring is a Soulslike game, which means the title poses a challenge to all players out there. Playing co-op is a great way to mitigate the game’s high difficulty, but you can’t play with friends at all times, as Elden Ring presses you to complete some solo sections at some point.

If you want to seamlessly play co-op with friends with no interruptions, here’s the Elden Ring multiplayer mod you need.

What is Elden Ring multiplayer mod? Seamless Co-op explained

The Elden Ring ‘Seamless Co-op’ mod allows players to play with friends at all times during an Elden Ring multiplayer session.

With no restrictions whatsoever, using the ‘Seamless Co-op’ mod you can play “from the tutorial up to the final boss completely in one co-op session,” as stated on the Nexus Mods page description for the Elden Ring multiplayer mod.

How to install Elden Ring multiplayer mod

To install the Elden Ring multiplayer mod ‘Seamless Co-op,’ players must follow these instructions:

  1. Download the ‘Seamless Co-op’ mod from the Nexus Mods page
  2. Extract the package you downloaded, and move the following files to your Elden Ring folder (usually in “C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ELDENRING\Game”)
  3. Edit “seamlesscoopsettings.ini” to your chosen co-op password
  4. Launch the mod using “lauch_elden_ring_seamless_coop.exe”

As stated by the mod’s page, players “don’t really have to uninstall the mod” to play normally. The page states that “you can use the launcher when you want to play it, otherwise just run the game normally. If you’d like to remove it fully, simply delete the files you downloaded from here.”

Elden Ring multiplayer mod: How to enable in-game

To use the Elden Ring multiplayer mod ‘Seamless Co-op,’ players must make sure they are connected to Steam, not offline, and run the same version of the mod and game.

Once that’s secured, the mod page recommends setting up a unique password by changing the seamlesscoopsettings.ini file found within the mod’s download. There, locate the ‘cooppassword’ string, and next to the ‘=’ type the password.

Players can rest together at Bonfires while using the Elden Ring multiplayer mod.

Once you set up a private password for your Elden Ring cooperative session, follow these instructions to start it in-game:

  1. Identify who is the host player and how is the one (or ones) joining
  2. The host must use the “Tiny Great Pot” item to create a session.
  3. The other players can join using the “Effigy of Meleina”, and they will spawn at a point nearby the host.

Any player can leave at any time using the “Separating Mist” item, and if the host uses this item, the session will be disbanded and all players will disconnect. Remember that this mod’s rules are the same as the base game ones, meaning that up to four players can join a cooperative session.

All Elden Ring multiplayer mod features

The Nexus Mods page for the Elden Ring multiplayer mod ‘Seamless Co-op’ lists the following as all the features available while using the mod in a cooperative session:

  • If a player dies, they will respawn in the same world at the last bonfire they rested at. The session will not be terminated.
  • Defeating enemy bosses and clearing areas no longer sends co-operators home.
  • All fog walls/barriers that usually restrict the multiplayer zone (along with their respective teleports) are gone.
  • All players can use Torrent (assuming they have the whistle) in a session together.
  • All map waypoints will synchronize, allowing you to navigate the world in a group more easily.
  • When one player rests at a Site of Grace, the world state will reset for all players. This is necessary to prevent enemy desync.
  • Game progression events completed in online play will also progress the game in your own world.
  • Varre’s questline no longer needs invasions to progress
  • You can play with 5 other players in the open world.
  • An overhaul to Elden Ring’s Peer-to-Peer connection system, using Steam’s newer networking API
  • Players are free to explore the entire game map (overworld, underground, legacy dungeons, etc.) together, and may split up if they wish.
  • The host can use the “Judicator’s Rulebook” at any point to toggle friendly fire and PvP game modes.
