How to find Latenna in Elden Ring: Location & questline

Elden Ring has many NPCs scattered across The Lands Between, and Latenna is one of those with a huge participation in an important sidequest. So, here’s how you can find her and in which questline she is involved.

The Elden Ring side quests can get messy when multiple NPCs are involved, especially when the game originally came out in 2022 when the non-playable characters weren’t marked down in the game’s map.

Now, with many updates on top, the game finally helps out with all the NPCs involved, but some of them are hard to find. So, here’s all you need to know about one of these sneaky NPCs, Latenna, including her location and more.

Elden Ring: Latenna NPC location

Latenna can be found in the Slumbering Wolf’s Shack in Elden Ring, which is located in Liurnia of the Lakes. Players can only access this location after beating the Lakeside Crystal Cave dungeon in the Liurnia Swamp, to the south.

This NPC can be killed, but this will result in failing her questline as you will need to speak multiple times with her. She does not drop her Soul Ashes by killing her at first sight in the Slumbering Wolf’s Shack, so it is recommended that players do not engage with her in combat.

Latenna is involved in the Village of the Albinaurics questline, started by Albus, an NPC found in this location.

Once you speak to Albus in the Village of the Albinaurics, you’ll need to hand the Haigtree Secret Medallion (Right) over to her in the Slumbering Wolf’s Shack. Once you do this, Latenna will trust you, knowing that you have Albus’ blessing.

Latenna will ask the players to take her to the land of Miquella’s Haligtree, becoming a Spirit summon (Latenna the Labinauric). If players do not talk to her before obtaining the Left part of the medallion, she will die and the sidequest becomes impossible to finish.

Once she joins you as a Spirit, players will need to defeat Commander Niall in Castle Sol to obtain the Haligtree Secret Medallion (Left). Having both pieces allows players to use the Grand Lift of Rold and access the secret location of the Consecrated Snowfield.

The secret area is in the Consecrated Snowfield north section, and it is called the Apostate Derelict. Here, you can talk to the giant Albinauric woman, who will summon Latenna’s Spirit, gift players the Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone, and end her quest.

You can use this special Smithing Stone to upgrade special equipment up to +10. It’s very rare, so choose its use wisely.
