Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora does support a two-player co-op, but how exactly does it work? Here’s everything you need to know about how to play, as well as progression. 


Ubisoft’s Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is led by Massive Entertainment, and previous titles by the developers, like The Division, had co-op support. Even Far Cry, which Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora borrows heavily from, always had a two-player co-op. 

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora does not have any full-fledged multiplayer mode, unlike 2009’s Avatar: The Game, but the co-op is still here if you want some company on your trip to Pandora.

How to unlock co-op in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora 

To unlock co-op in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, you’ve to first finish “The Aranahe Clan” quest

It won’t take much time to reach and complete the quest, around two to three hours, depending on how fast you breeze through. It is essentially a prologue and teaches you the basics of the game. 

How to play co-op in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Once you’ve completed the required quest for co-op in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, just open your map and head to Settings where you will find the co-op option. 

Remember, you can invite only your friends. It supports co-op from different platforms, so as long as you add them as friends in Ubisoft Connect. 

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora co-op progression details

All progression you make during your co-op session will be carried over in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. 

The world, meanwhile, will reflect the progression of the party leader (or host), which includes unlocked areas, quests, etc. So if you’re the one inviting your friends and they join you, the world will show your progression. 

Likewise, you can play the story quest the host is currently going through, even if you haven’t reached it yet. Any quest you complete this way will also be saved when you return to your own world.
